    Texas!
Talk about Mad Dogs and Texians. I dunno if this is still going on, but on the Saturday closest to the Summer Solstice, a bunch of deranged bikers meet at a rest stop on the Texas/Louisiana border at daybreak. They then take I-10 all the way to a rest stop just inside the New Mexico/Texas border. They do all this on the longest, hottest day of the year. I have know some whack jobs to ride a single-lung, 500cc Velocette the whole damn way.

As far as I know, nobody is in charge of this. Nobody gets a trophy. Everyone gets a sore butt. I hear it was started by a bunch of BMW types. Figures.

Let me know when someone takes a Norton Manx. I want to be at the finish line to buy him a drink.

Sounds like fun though on the right scooter.

Call me crazy but I would rather ride hot than cold anyday.

You have a point. When I was young and stupid (I'm now old and stupid), I once rode a motorcycle through the snow at -20 F, just so I could say I rode a motorcycle...

Darn, and here my Ducati has a flat.

And I'm told that ruins a tire with 150 miles on it??

Bored? Meet at the Texas Visitors Station in Orange Texas where you cross into Texas from Louisiana at 6:00 am Wednesday morning. Traditionally, there is a group of bikers that ride across the state to the rest stop in New Mexico right at the Texas border. No trophies. No ribbons. No organization. No nuthin. Just a sore butt.
