I'm getting ready to send a whole set of cookware back to them in Ohio. Since the store at which I purchased the set is no longer in business, their policy is to get the product in their possession, along with a letter of explanation so they can "Determine" if the issue qualifies (In this case, the non-stick surface is completely gone after only a couple years). I've got nothing to lose but some postage so I figure WTF?

Has anyone else ever tried this with them?

I went through the same exercise, and they replaced my worn out pans as well. I also got a letter on how to 'better' care for them.

Now I buy the pans at Costco. Set of 14 pieces for $80, and they're every bit as good as the Calphalons I had. Plus, for the price of shipping the Calphalons back, I can just buy new pans! :)

That's the issue - packing and shipping these back.

Yeah, it was a big, heavy box but I ended up with > 1K worth of stuff.

The set I sent back was also top of their line though.

I gave up on Calphalon, and have decided the All Clad is the only thing that can actually survive in our kitchen. It seems so outrageously expensive, but it does stand up to insane amounts of abuse.

Agreed, we moved to All Clad a few years ago and have never looked back. We have both standard and non-stick and they get a lot of use/abuse and work great with more even heating than anything we've used and I've had a number of brands since moving into this house in 1995. We have the standard versions and some copper core pieces as well.

Good to see that Calphalon stands by their product as we still have some pieces around, and they have been very good too, but they don't get much action now that the All Clad have proven themselves.

I bought a Scanpan non stick based on a friend's recommendation. They are expensive but so far it's the best I have ever used. Ceramic-Titanium coating rather than Teflon.
