    Hello,

Is anyone coming up to WP for the show this year? There used to be quite an F-chat contingent. I am going off-brand this year and bringing a favorite Porsche: my Guards Red 1989 930 Slant Coupe.

If anyone is attending, it'd be great to say 'Hi.'

    Forza,
    David

I'll be there Sunday morning early to see the cars and
say hello before the crowds get too big.

Will be on the lookout for the red slantnose.

Yes, the boosted P-car is going to be entering the fray. I am very excited to bring her out! I hope she does well; I have had limited time on the field with the car as 930's are relatively new and only coming into their own as a classic. I remember seeing ads with 2.7 RS Carreras about as frequently as I see ads for nice unmolested 930's these days...

The concours is Sunday 10-4pm. http://www.winterparkconcours.com/

In that past, I have coordinated luncheons for our F-Chat group, but I am moving this weekend and will not have the time to allocate accordingly.

I will probably be there +1 sometime Sunday afternoon. Hope to see some of you there!

    Hi David,

Be sure to bring documentation regarding the nose if any of the judges question it, ie. factory or aftermarket. Good luck on Sunday!

This is starting to look like a real party now!

On the subject, does anyone know if the Brazilian GP
will be on anywhere along Park Boulevard?

Just back from the Concours and I'm a little disappointed there were only 3 vintage Ferraris. Every year it looks more and more like a dealers' show for their latest offerings. There were some gems, however, like a red Packard roadster, a 1910 Overland, a 1914 Renault that cost $12,000 new (just the rolling chassis, no body!), I can't imagine what that translates into in today's dollars. A nice vintage red Rolls, and a couple of Bentley's.

Your slantnose 930 is gorgeous! I got some nice photos while the sky was overcast, brings out the stunning red paint!

Agreed. It seemed as though that a third of the cars on
the Avenue were dealer cars. Nice and all but we may
see these at convention center car shows.

Of note however, no official presence from FCF. Sort
of disappointing as I was looking forward to seeing
    Anthony and John there.

A very diverse entry none the less with something
for everyone and definately more vendor tents on the
    Avenue than past years.

Business looked good, congratulations to them.

PS: Saw the slantnose but each time the car was being
judged and everyone was busy or no one with the car,
    perhaps left for lunch.

Good to see everyone, really nice day!

Who is in charge of soliciting entries into the wp concours? It's a joke. The show in celebration is so much better. It's really sad because the park avenue venue is fantastic. I'd grade the Ferrari showing at a D-!

...will be happy to refund your admission ticket. Seriously, there's more to a concours than just Ferraris. Not to appreciate all of the other marques at the show, or at least a few of them, reveals more of your shortcomings than that of the organizers. To compare the Celebration show with Winter Park is comparing apples-to-oranges. Other than being free to the public, that's about where the similarities end.

A little research found that you had the same beef regarding last year's show. So why did you torture your sensibilities and return this year?? Masochist?

I find that even though there are a lot of new cars on display, I don't mind that so much if there is something I haven't seen before, it's all worth it. I found the vintage Rolls, Packards, Cadillacs and Corvettes, Bentleys made the day worth it for me. If I want to see vintage Ferraris, I will go to Palm Beach. I shot over 200 photos today and found some real gems. It's hard to please everyone. Any idea what car won the peoples' choice?

Your show is a joke. Thought it might be a better showing this year. Take a clue from Celebration.

Your show isn't a Concours; save that for Cavallino; Amelia Island and Pebble Beach. It's a car show.

And this is a Ferrari related board. Not commenting any of the other marquees. Just the Ferrari showing. You're holding a Concours in a town with an authorized Ferrari dealer; perhaps you could collaborate with them. You fail to include a 458 (probably the ultimate Ferrari at this time); maybe an Enzo; a F-40. Okay, there was one sunweathered Dino. The SuperAmerica was nice, too. Only the SuperAmerica can be classified as a true Concours class of car.

Maybe if you improved the Ferrari showing there wouldn't be anything to complain/comment about.

    All The Best.

365 GTC 2+2 got the peoples' choice, I believe. I was torn, and couldn't choose between the big Bentley 8 liter, or the Nash Healey.

Thanks to everyone who commented on the Flachbau! I am sorry that I wasn't there to chat for part of the day.

I think we should all be thankful that there are so many hobbyist events in Florida. There are plenty of people who will call our hobby wasteful, garish, or "outdated" in the "Green" era - we should so our best to support each other and the events we partake in.

Again, thank you to everyone who offered their time to bring together some fine cars and fine people in Winter Park.

PS - which car won the Modern Preservation Award?

The car i enjoyed was the 1976 BMW 2002 that was the original owner since high school, fully restored. I really anjoyed the diversity, and the charm of Winter park.
