I bought a CB500T in 1983 when I was 16yo with money I made cutting lawns and hid it from my parents for about 6 months. When I got the guts to tell them about the bike it was immediately sold. I have had plenty of bike since and own 6 presently but that Honda still has a special place in my heart.

That's awesome. I wish we had the weather up here to continue riding.

On another note. I just sold the 78 550 and added 1974 CB360 :D. Man, what a fun and torquey little bike. Bike has 9K on it! :D

    Better pics to come.

I almost won the AFM Open Production Championship in 70 (got second) on that very same bike (or one that looked just like it). When they came out, it was the end of the Nortons and Triumphs in that class. George Kerker had previously won that class on his Norton.

Cafe bikes always had a soft spot in my heart... I'll start a collection soon enough... I just need to set aside some more garage space :)

Nice CB360! My buddy has a '75 which he bought new and is currently going thru the engine once again for cleanup/inspection purposes but yes they are fun bikes. My buddy's has a 2-1 pipe and you can hear him from a mile away LOL.

This thread sure brings back some fond memory's as I have always been a motorcycle fan and I remember as if it was yesterday when those CB's cameout.

That is such a good looking machine. I would love to see more replicas of these in modern designs.

Thanks much. Just got this back from my mechanic who performed a $2k complete mechanical "re-awakening". After being dormant for 20 years, she had 225 lbs compression across the board. 93.8 hp on the dyno! A stock '80 CB750F is like 65 or so I am told. Should be in the upcoming Seattle International Bike show:

    Sweet!

So much revival of the 70's stuff going on atm. I saw a mint condition Suzuki GT750 2 stroke triple recently too.

I had a mixed bag from that era: Ducati 450 Desmo, BMW R100 RS (*great* point to point bike) and Yamaha RD350

Talk about 3 *very* different bikes!

Loved different bits about all of them but the Duke has my heart even though a temperamental beast at times.. "character" anyone? lol
