Winter Spotters

I haven't heard too many of them (holding an "L" to my forehead) but it didn't sound unusual. It did look like there was something aftermarket about the wheels and/or calipers. But it was a hardtop too.

 

Lemme revive this thread... black Bentley GTC, white rolls phantom at a hotel, maroon 4porte all in the last 4 days.

 

White Phantom parked in the garage of a tall high rise Sunday night. Bentleys everywhere, every day (I swear they've become almost as common as Mercedes). Black Elise driving at idiotic speeds, weaving through traffic in incredibly icy conditions on 55 near king drive last week.

 

Silver DB9 at Chicago and State two night ago.

 

White GranTurismo off Kinzie this morning.

 

Spotted this yellow Maserati Coupe yesterday (new years eve) on 64 waiting to turn south on Gary Ave

I saw a silver Gransport driving around Westmont near Lambo Chicago around 3:30.

 

When I first saw it, I was trying to figure out what the heck it was, then it just hit me. Had to whip out my camera before my light changed green. Thanks for the comment

 

Yesterday, 1/2/09, I was running radar (I know, I know.......it's my job though!) in Wheaton on Wiesbrook Road when I saw a silver Audi R8 pass by me. I was thinking about how I would love to have a look at that car when a lady in a Camry flew by and caught up to the Audi by the time I got her stopped. Well the Audi figured he was done for and pulled over with the Camry. I got to walk up to him and have a quick look. I told the driver "I'd love to stay and gawk your car, but I'm actually stopping the lady behind you." He had a sigh of relief and a laugh. I never knew the engine has a glass cover. Beautiful car!!

 

I think I saw those guys going down 294 the other day too.

badges2, I work in Wheaton too! And actually, quite often people get pulled over into the parking lot at work. Just the other day I snapped a pic of the squad car (I collect pics of police cars), but I won't post it up here though

Great story! I love the R8, I've seen 3 so far. Today I saw a black Quattroporte with the sport rims, those sport rims are ugly... I really prefer the regular stock rims.

Neil, I work on Roosevelt, right on the Glen Ellyn border, a couple blocks east from Blanchard. Not sure if I should really go into detail on what I've seen in the area, but I have seen a lot of seat belt checks at night in that area
