I'm pretty sure it is the car I saw for sale in Hemmings a couple of years back. I remember the badges on the rear/trunk had been placed incorrectly.

Same car, so what do we know about it from the past. The current own is in TN and has owned it for the last 3 or 4 years as I understand. If the badges out back are incorrectly placed does that mean it has been repainted at some point for some reason??? Maybe just tired paint (it does have 68k miles on it afterall!)

See the other thread, this car was once owned (up to about 2004) by Michael Scaglione in Pennsylvania, who is a mechanic and he did a lot of work to bring the car up to snuff while he had it. He was a regular on the Ferrari List in those days, haven't heard much since then. At some point, one of the owners had a fetish for the crossed flags (trunk lid, in place of the Ferrari name, ash tray, other places) that were never original to the model. Also, I don't remember exactly, but my notes say that the horsey on the back valence was either incorrect or not placed correctly.

John, take a look at the pictures he has posted, the tailights are also reversed.

Pcar928fan, you really should start a seperate thread if you want to talk about this car. Don't get me wrong, I'm not upset or anything but the etiquette police might rear thier ugly heads.

We can do that too. No prob.

Was really hoping I would have had one or two folks more familiar with it recently to give me a kind of go no-go or at least a strong warning one way or the other. That does not seem to be happening. If/when I get higher res pics, I will start another thread about this car and we will see where it takes us.

    Thanks guys,
    James

So this may be somewhere else already. If I had seen the 365 GT4 2+2 pic w/o seeing the number on the back of the car I would have said it was a 400... SOOO, for a newbie, what are the differences and the years built?

btw, that is EXACTLY why I am looking for a red 400! GORGEOUS!

My thought exactly (and I was one of those that thought they didn't look so hot in red). I assume those wheels weren't available from the factory (note I said assume so you know what that means... I could be very wroing). If not what are they? They look great.

You mean the spoke wheels? Those are Boranis. Must say, on the "modern" 365/400 shape, I completely prefer the Cromodoras. The last vintage where Boranis looked good to my eye was the 365GTC/4...and that's pushing it just a little.
