this tag s for a quartz colck and not an "ORIGINAL" clock like used in d a daytona or dino.

having said that, this tag is still rare. what does that mean? i couldn't tell you. however, i could buy stacks of 308 stuff all day long, and this is 308 stuff.

before anyone bids, do your homework. at least look at the previous post earlier in this post about tags. with all due respect, i think that says it all.

The exact same clock tag is used on the Dino. If the clock tag had said "pull" instead of "push" in the instructions it would be applicable to a Daytona.

once again, this isn't a dino clock tag. this is a "quartz" clock tag, the dino tag is different. i do believe the daytona/dino variation is simply a "push/pull" issue, but neither have the "quartz clock" heading for the instructions.

Gee, I wonder what someone will pay for a klenex used by Enzo? Some of this stuff is beyond silly.

this clock tag is a 308 style clocktag and not nearly as valuable.

Has there been any progress on printing new clock tags for the 246? I would be interested, not to pass it off as the real thing, but just to complete the car.

While I see your point, moneywise you're still better off with the auction for just the tag as it is less money overall. Question is, what is the reserve at?

Call me a fool, but I'm currently the high bidder. I have the clock, but not the tag.

And, as Tom pointed out, is exactly what the seller of the eBay "Daytona" (electric, pull to turn) did. He purchased multiple new clocks for a way less than the tag is worth, and is putting the tags (one at a time), up on eBay.

Enough of this crap. I made my own (10 at a time) at the cost of one AVERY business card sheet and an eyelet kit that I bought at the local craft shop for about $2. I even photographed it on my reproduction pouch like the one for $1000 in Paul's post on page one of this thread. It contains all four languages on the two sides like an original for my 365 GT 2+2 would.

    Tom,

    That's great.

It must be the special string from Maranello that makes the real thing worth $1000. Or more.....

Place in oven at 175 degrees for a couple of hours, baste lightly with a nice Italian wine, and PRESTO!! Patina.

    Good thinking!

Although I'm leading the auction I don't think I'll meet the reserve and I'm quite happy to make my own "replica clock tag". Not for concours, just to have it in the collection.

Actually, the replica/reproduction clock tag would work for a Concours event. Besides, let's not get too crazy for the Concours events. The Judges can't even get the basics (wiper arms & blades, bumpers, headlight buckets, seat belts, wheels, lights, etc., etc.) right on the Daytonas. Before they start deducting for a reproduction clock tag, they should at least figure out the mechanicals/body stuff first.
