Barry -- I thought the same thing when I saw Jeff's post! Jeff H. -- Can you provide some dimensional details for the #136549: 1. Outside diameter? 2. Is the rim a round cross-section or an oval cross-section? 3. If round, the diameter; or if oval, the minor diameter and major diameter? TIA

Jeff Works of tactile and visual art! Those are gorgeous wheels. If you find a satin spoked Momo Cavallino as fitted to some 246s I'm definitely interested! I'm beginning to think you guys must be at the end of a rainbow with so many treasures. thanks again!! cheers! - have some fish and chips with mushy peas for me; we have something similar in Japan, but it's not cooked......... Andy Thanks for the kind offer! I noted that AGLA which advertises in Forza recovers wheels starting at $450, so will troll a bit longer. Again, thanks for the note!!

Barry - thanks for the post! The wheel you show I have already as the stock wheel. I'm sorry for my poor photo quality, but looking close the Dino's Cavallino is a bit more angular, especially at the top, with a thicker section. Thanks for keeping an eye out! Am checking a few different sources q week, and will keep my fingers crossed. Best to all rt |

Russ, If you don't mind having black anodized spokes, you're in luck.
Ferrari Parts Exchange has NOS MOMO wheels in stock: http://www.ferraripartsexchange.com/sterring%20wheels/steering%20wheel%204.htm See their steering wheel page for more selections: http://www.ferraripartsexchange.com/steeringwheels.htm Barry

Russ, The Cavallino wheel pictured in the 1986 MOMO listing is the wheel you want. It had silver satin spokes and is shown with the detachable leather centerpiece. Barry |

Peter, I bought the car on 10-01-94 it turned 40,000 on 12-18-01. I have changed the oil every 6 months or 1000 miles, the gearbox, brake fluid and coolant using dex-cool and distilled water every year. It is at 42,575! I wish i could restrict the mileage but it is probably my first and last Ferrari so i am enjoying it! I have heard of a gt4 in FL with 100,000. Russ, Yes they are still there many migrated to this list but I am on 3 :-) I am sure they will be glad to hear from you! Rob |

Robert Still in Japan - but moving to DC in a month. Hopefully will try to hook up with FList again and the great DC crowd (Lashdeep, et. al.) if they are still around. I'm sure clyde is probably still on-line. Like you, I also have the stock wheels on display. Must be a guy thing. Back on topic: Yes, they are 17" Speedlines. Got them when I was in Germany where they are an OEM dealer option. HRE had stopped making your 'GTO' wheels (504?) by the time I was in the market. I think that the 17" wheels really improve a Mondial all the way around with the right tires. Found a picture of a Cavallino wheel in a Dino, except black. Really cool. You do see these a lot in Dinos, but usually satin spoked. Even comes with a Prancing Horse. If anyone has one laying around, I'm interested..... See you in the States!

Russ, Good to see you again! I am still on the Flist. Your car looks great! Aren't those Speedline wheels on your Mondial? Are you still in Japan? Funny you should ask about the wheels. I bought Dave Handa's 16" (check out my profile) so back to the living room. I must have the most understanding wife in the world, tell me again why you need 3 sets of wheels, honey wheels for boys are like shoes for girls! I was thinking of selling them but I have so much time and money in them. I had aluminum nuts made, then had to get a new bolt cover to fit them, etc. They are beautiful but that polished aluminum can take an hour a wheel to keep nice..

Robert I remember those F1 wheels well! Yours looks great and a very 'period item' that matches well. I always liked the Porsche mindset that accessories were great on cars if they were from that period, OEM, or offered by a dealer as an accessory. I looked at those on ebay, and I'm going to bide my time in hopes of an original Momo Cavallino with satin spokes. Even Dennis McCann (www.allferrariparts.com) did not have one. Thanks for the post! Will keep a lookout! best rt OBTW: What did you do with your HRE wheels that I have coveted all these many years, even back from F-list days I believe? |

Russ, There are two cool dino wheels on ebay now search under "Ferrari wheel" one real one and one reproduction if you are interested. I got a wheel like was used in the F1 cars in the 80's, It is smaller fat and suede feels great to hold on to! I still have the original mounted in my living room (where else!)

Russ, Here's your Monte Carlo, and another incarnation of the Cavallino from a 1995 Wilco catalogue:
It looks like the Rennsport evolved into the Monte Carlo. I know how you feel. I'm sure a Cavallino will show up one day. Barry |

Barry That ad really got to me as well! Looks like all you would need to do is remove the leather centerpiece on the shown Cavallino and it might be close. Of course I'm pining for the original with brushed satin spokes and the little horsie........ Loved the post - thanks! best Russ |

Russ, This thread really brought back fond memories. I found the 1986 Racequip catalog I ordered the Veloce from. Here's what MOMO offered then:
I posted a picture of the Cavallino II. The original Cavallino was a bit different. Barry |

Barry thanks for the tip - it's great to see other FChatters as yourself and Steve appreciate the form and functionality of a Momo Steering wheel. I put a 350mm Monte Carlo on the Mondial and it does make a difference. thanks to both for posting - wil tool around eBay. Russ |

Steve, Thanks for refreshing my memory (I edited my previous post to read Veloce). Yes, That's the wheel I had. I enjoyed the thick, uniform round section rim as well. MOMO just doesn't make them that way anymore. Barry |

I'd love to find a 320mm MOMO Veloce:
I've got the MOMO Corse on my TR -- not bad, but I like the thicker round section rim even better. |

Russ, The MOMO Cavallino was a handsome wheel. Years ago, I bought a MOMO Veloce for another car I owned. I remember it was a toss-up between the two. They were very similar. I think it's going to be difficult to find a Cavallino today. You can check e-bay as discontinued MOMO wheels often show up there. MOMO's current RACING LINE wheel is similar to the Cavallino:

Am looking for a source for an older Momo steering wheel sold in the 70s called the 'Cavallino'. Have checked archives, Forza and Hemmings. Many thanks in advance. Best to all, Russ |
