Turboqv: I made a logical assumption --- apparently, it was incorrect. I wonder if you are capable of expressing yourself in a more intelligent and civilized fashion? Or, are we to also assume simply that you are a belligerent Neanderthal? |

Turboqv: a $20K paint job on a $35K car is an interesting juxtaposition of priorities --- I hope it matches your eye color or something. Don't get pissed --- I'm just making a silly joke. Anyway... I knew Carl before he started Blackhorse. He left his previous shop (I'll be tactful, and not mention it by name --- but, those of you around the Glendale area know of them, I'm sure) because he was fed up with the owner's business tactics and customer relations style. I don't anything about how Blackhorse runs their shop and handles their clientele, but I can say this ---- Carl is one hell of good Ferrari mechanic --- he really knows his stuff. And, as an individual, he is very 'straight-shooter'. |

Tazio, I hate been in your position. You got to be careful about how you express your feelings. You should never let them see you sweat! As for my experience, I made the appointment a week in advance by personally stopping at the shop and talking to Steve, and of course, Steve was the technician that never showed up. Like I said, perhaps a single instance occurrence (everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt at least once), but I am yet to experience those issues anywhere else. |

In by 8:00 out by 5:00 for a smog check while some jack off sits on his thumb??? That is outrageous. No thanks, I'll pass. |

Thanks for the heads up on this... Due to a previous post I was going to go there for an oil change as part of my cross country run. My spider is damn near concourse and I expect whoever works on it to be respectful to the condition of the car, as well as my time. Matt check your PM....... |

Well said "The Don" on all posts. It is amazing what diatribe appears on here sometimes. My own experiences are not "half facts or stupid rumors" as put so eloquently by the obviously bias TAZIO. My experience is now a matter of public record, as in the California Superior Court System my case against Bertuzzi & Di Pasquale. AND THEY LOST!! Customer Service and honesty go along way! My intent was to let people know my own experience with two particular fellows. Not to bash BLACKHORSE. I DO NOT THINK ANYONE ON THIS BOARD WOULD APPRECIATE THEIR 20K PAINT JOB BEING CHIPPED, SCRATCHED AND DENTED, THAN HAVING THEIR MECHANIC LIE ABOUT IT.

thanks for all the compliments especially since you have mastered typing while looking in the mirror.thanks for the grammar&spelling tips but its hard to type laughing.resorting to name calling and such language over such trivial matters is amusing for not just me but also to the countless other Ferrari Chat readers that actually have a life. judging from the time you spend posting here perhaps you should get one too. maybe take that pf out for a spin... perhaps voluteer work with at-risk porsche owners or maybe find solace in: |

Well Tazio, I have two Ferrari's. One is a 1958 250 GT PF "special" I drive the other one has a daily driver, just setting that record straight. I will have no trouble getting a smog done. There are many other shops in LA that can do them. BH is not the only shop. I am sure Carl would be pleased to know that you are speaking on his behalf while driving off customers that pay his bill. Just setting that record straigh. p.s. Use a grammar and spellcheck. |

since im not a blackhorse employee but a 20 yr friend of the owner,(i helped him start the company)didnt think i was bashing anyone directly.... just setting the record straight...... but truth hurts sometimes.since luis no longer works with carl that episode and you are a moot point.sorry you feel the way you do but life goes on.good luck on your next smog cert...glad to see your happy with auto gallery as its owner is a Blackhorse Motors customer sending us his 250 boano vintage racer. now i will close my talk hole and take out a ferrari for a lil afternoon drive...... those that know ferrari do it........... |

BTY, Save your "history" lession on BH for the used car sales. Has your motto goes, "8500 RPM should be available when you are" Maybe you should change it to, "8500 RPM should be available when you are has long as you do not mind waiting forever to get your car fixed, are not driving anything below a 348, and you like dealing with a$$clowns like Tazio, and can waste a whole day because we can choose our clients because our does not stink." |

Tazio, I forgot to mention, 1. Carl and Luis were there @ 8:00, not running around getting parts. 2. I am sure all the 328 "wanna be's" will be thrilled to see that comment. 3. It's jerks and assholes like you that give Ferrari owners a very bad name. When you are in the customer service arena, the customer is always right. Your FNA attitude will not fly much longer. If you don't believe me, Listen to the customers. |

Tazio, First off, I was TOLD to be there @ 8:00 Second, I was TOLD it would be done by 12:00 Third, it was not done until after 5:00 Last thing I wanted to do was WASTE my time walking around waiting for my smog to get done. I really do not give a what you or your "just do it or write it" babble. Your word is your word, Regardless of Ferrari or Ford. I suppose it is NEVER a bad day at Blackhorse eh? Good way to get customers is to bash them. Get your facts straight (Luis told me to be there @ 8:00) before you open that talk hole of yours Auto Gallery gets my vote (and dollars) before blackhorse ever will now. M |

Since was post was so short, I want to weigh in with Tazio who obviously works there. My number one requirement for having my car worked on is that it is done right and that I trust the mechanics. Carl worked on my car, had it ready when I was flying in and the work was correctly priced. Admittedly, I wasn't there first thing in the morning but who cares...having it done right is more important. Bill, I would encourage you to talk with Carl and see what you think... - JMG |

when blackhorse opened it doors in march 99,it was Carl running everything with drop-in friends lending a hand here and there.one guy with an expanding customer base used to his own timeframe.perhaps a tool didnt get picked up till 11:30 but at 9am he was picking up parts for the cars currently in for service because it meant another day waiting if the parts were shipped.it didnt matter if the car was the 250 boano that would win the coppa bella macchina at theferrari nationals, the movie stars 456,or a know-it-all wannabe with a 328.if they understood that while most are home with the wife, kiddies or in the movie stars case, groupies at 10pm,carl could usually be found under one of those cars working.once Steve came onboard full time the shop found its legs and 4 yrs later expanded to a shop 3 times the size of the original.Carl,Steve & 2 full time technicians make sure unfortunate instances similar to previous posts wont happen.considering that virtually every independent exotic car dealer in L.A. sends Blackhorse Motors cars for service,Carl's consistant top finishes at every major Ferrai show in north america over the last 10 years, not to mention the hundreds of satisfied current customers speak more for Blackhorse Motors than 8am earlybirds expecting to have it their way.especially when the shop opens at 9am theres the old saying: those that know Ferrari.............just do it those that dont know Ferrari.....write about it as for antonio,we found him to be an excellent technician on a part time basis whos moving on to other ventures.we judged him on his own actions, not from stupid rumors, half facts or previous employers. feel free to contact us:Blackhorse Motors 310.815.1957 |

BEWARE OF A MECHANIC THERE NAME ANTONIO DIPASQUALE! He used to work for Costantino Bertuzzi for Orange County Ferrari's 360 Challenge race team. Before they both got fired. ORANGE COUNTY FERRARI WILL VERIFY THIS They worked on our car for three months before they abandoned the car without my permission. He left the car outside where it got rained on. THEY SCRATCHED THE CAR IN NUMEROUS PLACES TOOK THE CAR APART AND LEFT IT THAT WAY!! They will promise you the world and give you nothing back but headaches, lies, and deceit. STAY AWAY FORM BOTH THOSE GUYS!!

Bill, They are a major independant shop out here in L.A. They do good work...BUT...I can relate to Arnaldo The day I was there getting my smog done, They had many cars waiting for service but they nothing. I did not see a tool picked up until 11:30. I got there @ 8:00. Big waste of timers. Not worth it. E-mail me @ [email protected] for some other shops in town. |

I tried them once. Made an appointment for first thing in the morning, and the Ferrari mechanic never showed up that day. Perhaps a single occurrence, but time is to valuable to waste waiting for a mechanic at its own shop. |
