Edgar, Ansgar Sorry, I don't recall the name or whether he still has the car but the black one in the pics is not his. The black one that he's got (and on my model) has gold colour rims. Looks outstanding! |

Dan, you're correct: ALL F40s where originally RED. No other colours. |

Call me picky, picky, but this car is just called a "Koenig competition" - Testarossa based Turbo + Supercharged flat 12 - circa 800hp-1000hp. One other piece of trivia, the white F40 belongs to the Sultan of Brunei. As far as I am aware virtually all F40s (apart from competition) were made in Red - cars that are other colours are not factory original - anyone know more about that? The Factory is famed for "if you have enough money, you can have what you want". Dan |

While I was getting my 360 Spyder converted about 6-8 months back, there was a Koenig F40... or is it called Koenig F40 Competition? in the shop. Thought you might enjoy.---- John

Roel, thanks for the nice pics of the yellow F40! If you're looking for a pic of the grey F40, just check the archives of this site. Try searching for "F40" and "Sultan". This is what I know about non-red F40s: 8 yellow cars, 3 black, 3 blue, 3 greyish, 1 white and 1 green. Yes, several of these cars are owned by the Sultan. I agree what you say about white Ferraris, although I often prefer other light colours (silvergrey or so). But the white 348 SS at the Cavallino Classic this year was really nice. I also remember seeing some white Testarossas. Also very nice! Lawrence, I have the name "Dahms" with a black F40? Sounds familiar? Is he a soccer player? Could be the car, although there also is a black F40 in the UK. |

I think the black one was built for a German soccer star. I know that the model manufacturer Pocher made a 1/8 scale kit of this beauty (I have one) but it's no longer in production. |

Found two pics of a yellow F40, enjoy. Andrew: Very nice pics! never knew there was a baby-blue F40 out there. Thnx.
Edvar: I figured the sultan would have some interesting colorred F40s. Nice to see you dug one up. An F40 in grey? ..hmmm no thanks. And about the white one, I assumed someone in arabia would have a white F40. I've been to Dubai/Abu dhabi last year, and there are suprisingly many white cars on the street over there... I figured it must be because of the heat. I actually developed some kind of appreciation for these white cars... They're not all that bad.

The "King of F40 colours" is certainly the Sultan of Brunei (surprised?). A grey one was recently for sale in the UK. I also have a picture of a white one. I was being told that the Sultan has F40s in "all Benetton colours" .... |

The black looks awesome (as it does on ANY Ferrari ). I like the blue, although it wouldn't be my first choice. This colour is almost the same as Jon Shirley's 250MM Pinninfarina coupe and it looks fantastic on that one... |

I love the black one. As for the blue? Well, all I can say is: SAVE A SMURF & BAN THIS COLOR!!! Yikes! Ironically, BMW uses it on its new M3 also. DEFINITELY an acquired taste...

Maybe this should be posted in the showroom division, but anyway. Stumbled upon these two pictures of a -beautiful- black F40 while surfin' the 'net. Never seen a black F40 before, but I must say it looks stunning. Love that stealthy look. Thinking about it, I've only seen 3 colors on F40s sofar. Red, Yellow, and now Black (Funny thing, exactly the 3 available colors for the Enzo). Anyone of you out there seen some other crazy/nice paintjobs on F40's ? Post them here! As far as I know, out of the factory, all F40s were red, am I right? By the way, I've got the first picture in size 1024x768 too, if anyone's interested. It's currently my background.
