Guys,
If you still need authentic pit crew clothing, I have a few items left, very rare & limited availability.
Here's what I have:
Jacket with Gilet used by the Ferrari team during the 2000 F1 season: Signed by both Schumacher and Barrichello. The drivers� signatures make these jackets unique and extremely valuable. The jacket comes with a certificate from Ferrari guaranteeing its authenticity.

after reading that I realized it sounded very bad!
How I meant to say that was, that no matter how well they are made, it is very obvious that the shirts made in Thailand could not be confused with authentic team wear.
The Thai clothes do not use the correct fabric, usually have white buttons, the patches are not the correct size and usually they are in slightly the wrong posistion.
While they might be sewn well (I do not know) I do not think you will have any confusion.
I will say the current Fila Official Reproduction clothing is very nicely done.

The reproduction clothes are so poorly done that there can be no confusion. (kinda like a Fiero Ferrari).
This is a fairly small community so you know who the players are. If you ever decide you want team gear, let me know, I will help you.

Team members get allocated so many clothes each season, they sell extras for cash.
Some are given to friends of the team.
And some are sold by the team to individuals to promote Ferrari.
You can get some authentic clothes now on the Ferrari owners sight.

The thai repo are fine for those individuals not wanting to spend the money on authentic team gear and are comfortable with wearing imitation team wear.
This thread was on Authentic Team Gear, not imitation. Mark is dead on, the imitation maybe excellent quality, it is just not the real thing.

I wore my Thai repro Sat at the Indy F1. I had at least a half dozen people approach me about it. They all wanted to know where they could get one too. eBay. I think I paid $15 for mine a couple of years ago. I see they're up to $29 now. |

I bought the Thai repro shirt to wear while working on my car-and like the FILA shoes, I just don't think I would wear it in the general public arena. But they are nice ..... |

I have a shirt like Mark's from ebay. It is just as good as any other. If paying LOTS of $$$ is what it takes to turn a "fake" into a "real" shirt, forget it. I'll just have to take the ridicule from all those who are so much smarter and pay more. |

Just for the heck of it I ordered and just received from Thailand a repro Marlboro branded pit crew shirt, cost $29.00. It is every bit as good a quality as a FILA repro for $150.00+ .... but its still not the Real McCoy!! |

Matt, speedgear sells authentic "reproduction" team gear.
Carmine, there are several sources for "authentic" team gear. I collect team gear and have a fairly good collection. If you wish to email me I can direct you to several providers.
Since team gear is not to be sold by the mechanics and team members who receive them, they are not available through normal channels.
Prices vary by the rarity of the item, tobacco branded shirts are the most desirable.
Shirts can range from $350 to $650. Jackets normally start around $650 and go to $2,000.
Fleece shirts and cashmire sweaters can run up to $950.00.
Drivers suits can be as high as $20,000.00!
ebay is still a good source for these items. be wary of imitation shirts from maylesia, everybody knows they are fake and are laughing at you behind your back! (just a little humor)
