Mike Parkes - Ferrari Racing Driver & Development Engineer. Must See Website!!!

Must see website about the '60s Ferrari Racing Driver and Development Engineer Mike Parkes by his brother and sister John and Annabel Parkes. Gives an excellent insight to the background of his life. Some really fabulous pictures of Mike, the cars including SWB, GTO, 275P, P3, P4, F1, details of the races, the Commendatore, the connection to Maranello Concessionaires and much more.

Here is the 'lite' version of the website with many genuinely superb captioned pictures with a link to the website proper. Fabulous!!!

Mike winning the 1964 Spa 500km in 250 GTO #4399GT.

Short vid no sound. Mike's in car number 20. Look at the way they fuel the car in the pits. The rhd '64 style GTO is now owned by Sir Anthony Bamford.

Great video. That is crazy how they fill the car with fuel and just pour a bucket of water to clear the spilt fuel. Very amusing! The car looks like a 250 LM though- the car that was being fueled?

It's actually 250 GTO c/n 4399GT being refuelled. This car started life as a series 1 250 GTO but was rebodied in the series 2 GTO '64 style which does have 250 LM style features. It's the only rhd '64 bodied car. I think the shape is absolutely fantastic. It reminds me of a shark. A Great Red Shark.

Video about the Jaguar MK1, MK2 and E Type that contains lots of footage of Mike Parkes in Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione and 250 GTO racing with his contemporaries such as Graham Hill, Stirling Moss, Roy Salvadori etc. Great video, especially to see Mike racing and winning 2 races too.
