I heard a Vintage F car was sold in the last few days that sold for over 24 million. Anyone know the details?

He drove it seriously fast in vintage races in the 80's...I hope it will still be in future.

Three memories: June 7 1989 at a vintage meet at Brands Hatch, sunny day, watching from Hawthorn bend he was banging doors with a black Lotus!

Monthlery Coupes de l'age d'Or early 80's going past the pits at a million rpm and flying on the banking the sound magnified by it.

Nurburgring Oldtimer GP 1985, I had just walked biked around the whole Nordschleife behind the guardrail, seven and a half hours, there was no actual foot path for much of the lap and was biking up the road that goes along the final straight when I heard a screaming engine and he came flying past in the other direction overtaking across from me passing about 6 feet away, a nice end to a special day!

5095GT recently changed hands at a very high price, that no one (or almost no one) knows exactly.

I understood that Violati's asking price was in Euros, not Dollars

Nope. I have heard of a firm offer of 25 million US for one, the 25 million euro asking price of another, and the likely hood of a nice one trading soon so it wouldn't surprise me. These days nothing surprises me.

I hope it's not Violati's-- there was a good article about him in one of the magazines a few years back. Pictures of him and his dog driving around in the GTO... probably the next owner won't drive around in it with his dog!
