Absolutely awesome. If this were a 95, I'd likely make you an offer.

Good luck with the sale.

Hmm, wouldn't dual MAF sensors indicate that it really is a 1995?

Nope. All challenge cars were configured this way regardless of the year. The 95s are the only ones with VINs which can be street registered.

Assuming you title it in a state without smog or safety inspections.

Shouldn't be a problem in our home state of Maryland. It's all who you know.

I'm honestly not sure. I've been told by several people that the 95s were the only ones with street VINs. However, considering you actually own a 355C, you might know a bit more than me.

What year is your car?

Rob -- all 1996+ *factory* 355 Challenge cars were imported as race cars, with no MSO/title, and all with 2.7 Motronic (to keep things fair). One could, of course, buy a 355 Challenge conversion kit and apply it to any model 355 CH, 1995-1998.

that's what I meant, I remember on FChat someone in 2002 or 2003 buying the last available 355 Challenge kit and installing on a street 355.

You might be thinking of Charlie Vest, who bought his 355 Challenge from Jon Kofod, who in turn said (IIRC) that he bought the last available 355 CH kit and had it installed -- on a 95 model, as it turns out.

now I wonder if any kits were ever put on a '96+. I just thought it was possible and common, but maybe the 2.7 Motronic was a deal breaker along with better street deals on '95.

Well, it would probably depend on whether the car was to be raced in the Challenge series or not. A car without the 2.7 Motronic was probably at a slight disadvantage. Plus, in those days, Ferrari probably had enough interest in the Challenge that it could require drivers to buy a new one to get into the series....
