I saw your car it was the topic of discussion in the FOC marquee, regarding the plate?
Please fill us in on the details.
Kind Regards,
Roy

I believe cars are assigned reg. plates based on when they were first registered. So if an F40 had been bought some years previous and sat in a private collection and not registered until late 2001 it would have a 51 plate.

Sorry Roy, the way I worded that may have been confusing. I unfortunately can't afford an F40 but I and a friend had a little game of you 'who can make the loudest noise when driving past' with the 51 plate F40! He, of course put us to shame but he loved my friends car. It would be great to see who he was on here or one of the other Ferrari forums to say thanks for making our day! :-)

Does anyone know who owns it? Feel free to pm me if he would rather remain hidden.

Roy - the car belongs to a fellow NWAG FOC GB member.

By a previous owner, the car was temporarily exported to Australia, but because of subsequently invoked restrictions on the importation of LHD cars, it was returned to the UK..hence the "period" 51 plate.

A great believer in using his cars, the current owner has recently returned from a faultless trip to Spa...I hope this helps

Great to hear the story behind it, cheers Ed. Would you mind sharing his username at all? I wouldn't mind dropping him a quick line after our brief chat on the way back from the event!
