Hi Jimmie, anywhere along the coast or close to it would be fine. Something old with good dining etc. (will be taking ferry to France during our stay) We go to Scotland annually but switching it uno this year to Southern England. Im originally from Yorkshire so fairly familiar with that area. Thanks Jimmie Chas
Slightly off the wall suggestion https://www.aspinallfoundation.org/port-lympne/short-breaks/port-lympne-hotel/ ! Lovely location & building - food ok - their two zoos are awesome Further west along the coast I've had recommended but never tried Baillifscourt https://www.hshotels.co.uk/bailiffscourt
Chas. I come from West Sussex, know the area well. The Ballifscourt Hotel (Clymping,Littlehampton) I have stayed there/used it as a restaurant, and it is a very interesting place. Just inland..Amberley Castle is a good hotel. South of the town of Horsham is South Lodge. This is a great place, and used by Ferrari meets on some occasions. Midhurst is a quaint old market town, and the Spread Eagle is very popular. If you spot one you fancy,I would be happy to give you my opinion at any time. Michael.
Talland bay hotel in Cornwall is nice. Great views and walks to Looe and polperro. Stayed there last year, eclectic interior and great food.
My first suggestion would be Gravetye Manor - Gravetye Manor Hotel Review, East Grinstead, West Sussex | Travel It's a bit inland but was excellent when I stayed there. Reputed to have the best restaurant wine cellar in the country. Further west there are some good hotels in the New Forest.
Stayed there this years for a friends wedding. very nice. If you are down that way and want a holiday cottage on a lovely isolated farm, check out Beautiful Holiday Cottages in Rural West Cornwall (plug for my fiends!) If you want somewhere to stop off on the way...Whatley Manor and The Manor House Castle Coombe are also both nice if budget is not an issue.
If you choose to stay at Combe (one O not two) and need an F car fix then give me a shout, I'm a few miles down the road.
Not coastal, but very good if you want a modern take on a country house. Cowley Manor - Hotel - Cotswolds - United Kingdom
Hey, I'm an engineer!!! Stop bullying me! I'm not suppose to be able to spell I'm up in Grittleton, was down at Melksham Tyres getting my new pzeros yesterday and today. Can't wait to try them out! Are you going to the Cotswold club meet at Kemble next weekend?
I didn't know anything about it and unfortunately I'm away 11-14 on a little road trip to Kent - if you hear of any more though give me a shout, I like to use the car!
