I have 15 Quattroruoute models and they are all fantastic. Buying them on eBay has never been a problem until the past several months. Of the last three Alfas purchased from different sellers in Italy, two never arrived and I am still waiting for the last one after 1 month. Fortunately I was refunded for the lost models (the third seller waited two weeks before shipping). The Alfa centenario models seem to only be available from Italy, but I am now reluctant to buy due to the ridiculously expensive, unreliable shipping.

Has anyone else exerienced these problems?
Are there any vendors in the US or Canada?

I am looking for the Disco Volante and Giullietta Sprint Speciale (and 2600 if it doen't arrive).

I don't think you will find a seller in North America. They are very expensive to ship so they would have to sell them for a high price to make a profit. Maybe after the series is done someone will take the molds and reissue them under another name. I have been ordering the models since they came out. I have had a few take 3 months to get to me(one ended up in a Atlanta Postal recovery warehouse), but every one has arrived(I am in the Chicago Area wich has good international mail service, mail packages from the UK have come in 4 days). My guess is all yours will arrive. If you expect to get a regular mail shipment from Italy in less than a month on a regular basis you are dreaming. Italy has to X-ray the packages coming to the USA and they only have a few locations set up so far to do that. Don't get all over the seller until atleast 1 and 1/2 months. If you do they won't sell to you anymore. If you want it faster you will have to send it EMS, or with an express company like Fed Ex. DHL does like to loose packages coming to the USA alot. They are very good in Europe, but not so good here.

Thanks for shedding some light on this situation -- there are definately some challenges to obtaining these models. I expect about a 1 to 1.5 month wait time as my earlier shipments from Italy took this amount of time. 2-4 months is unacceptable particulary since Ebay only gives 1 month to file for resolution and the leverage of leaving negative feedback eventually expires. There is also no excuse for taking 2+ weeks to ship merchandise out after being paid (my companies ship worldwide and we would never waste a customer's time like this). In previous years there were vendors in the UK and Germany with faster, cheaper shipping and the Italian vendors were prompt and reliable. 2 of 3 recent sellers confrimed that shipments could not be located, 2 of 3 waited a couple of weeks before mailing my models. I was hoping there were other supply alternatives available, but maybe not. Are there recommended sellers that you guys have had recent success with?

I get mine from Fabrizio. One of his shipments got lost at the Atlanta postal recovery center during the east coast snow storms(it came in via NY), but it did get here. He will send the book and package they came with if you ask. His prices are very good if you buy several models at a time. He also takes paypal. You can have it insured if you wish.

Thanks Tom! I'll check with Fabrizio. The good news is that my last eBay purchase (the 2600) arrived this morning.

Here are 3 more models. I forgot the 1/24th Quattroruote TZ1 in the last photo. Also in the photo are the very nice Welly's Alfa 2600 Spiders. They have very well done engines and interiors and are a real bargain at 14 to 16 Euro.

    Hello everybody!
I have the first five cars of the Alfa Romeo collection. My mother lives in Italy, near Roma: how could she order the rest of the collection? If there are Italian members of the forum who could give me advice I would really appreciate it(you can write in Italian,I can understand).
    Thank you very much!
