Number 10 the Stradale was out 2 weeks ago and number 11 the Sprint Speciale today. Both models look very good. This is the first time they have been done well in a large scale or in 1/24th scale diecast. Looking forward to the Disco, 1900 Touring, 2.9, 2500 Ville, 2000 Touring, TZ1 along with many others next year. The SZ should also be out next year. http://www.quattroruote.it/notizie/eventi/collezione-del-centenario-una-giulietta-molto-speciale Happy Holidays. Looks serious by the way... Anyone having interesting details on new productions in 1/24 die cast? I started to buy the Qruote in end of September, they are quite amazing in details, despite lack of steerable wheels, more detailed undercarriage, light weight metal, absence of flocking, suspension or other features found on Danbury/Franklin/Wix/Trax/Unique replica, etc. but with the advantage of being very popular models; who's never been at the wheel of a Renault 4L/R5/Peugeot 205, DS19? I past my driving licence on a R4L... but the scale and general look are impressive, some of the prices some E-bayers are selling them for as well... as high as some Danbury/Franklin models. I wrote to Welly die cast to tell them to have a look at the demand of models in 1/24 that E-bays reflects and the part of it Qruote is taking... maybe if everyone does the same we could tempt them to make some original models never seen in 1/24... As we French say, if you don't criticise, you don't improve... (Then we are called arrogant... but hey, you can't win it all) What do you think? Anyone following me?
Welly's has been doing alot of 1/24th diecast models, so the emails must be working. The prices on ebay do not always reflect actual market value. The Quattrorute models will be collector items in a few years, but not yet. They are very nice for 20 euro(the price Italians pay at newsstands, and that includes a nice booklet). I panicked just before having a look at the Leo collection, the price will go down quickly if they are easily shipped everywhere... I contacted the shop for the sale and shipping conditions to Australia... waiting for a reply. I just received the Alfa Romeo 1900, bought on e-bay... (Won't say the price...) superb 1950's look, favorite with the Lancia Aurelia B24. I got two stupid triangular shaped screws to hold the support screwed on the plastic base, who's the idiot that got this idea??? I had to make a screw driver from a piece of metal wire to remove them... Are we supposed to keep them on the support??? I was used of the rubber tyres but this seem just soft plastic... 50 ways to loose customers... Yes, in fact they are nice for 20 bucks, above that they start to show some weakness in the design... Nice collection, I got/ I'm getting a few of them... Does having a few 1/24 Ferrari allow me to stay in this forum??? This Ferrari 330 P4 was built in 1975 while wasting a bit of compulsory time in the army... then spent a few years on top of a wardrobe... (The model not me) Years later, I ordered some parts, mainly body and missing one from Heller, original internal parts still from the old model, done the paint again with a spray this time. The Renault Alpine comes from the same era, army and wardrobe top... reconditioned body from ordered parts from Heller, same internal parts... The 250 GTO is from 1990/92 when I stopped building kits.
Those pictures should go under the fchat completed models thread not the Quattroruote 1/24th thread. Here is a photo of Quattroruote number 13 the Alfa 1900 Disco spider. It is due out on January 22nd 2011. That will be followed by the Zagato 1750 1930 on February 5th 2011. Here is the list up to number 20. So far they will still have 30 1/24th scale Alfa's in the series. 13 Disco Volante Spider 1952 14 6C 1750 GS Zagato 1930 15 8C 2900B Lungo Touring 1938 16 2000 Spider 1957 17 Giulia TZ1 1963 18 6C 2500 SS Villa d'Este 1949 19 Alfetta 1972 20 MiTo 2008 Tom Tanner/Ferrari Expo 2011-Chicago March 19th 2011 Image Unavailable, Please Login
No problem, just trying to keep this thread about 1/24th diecasts. Here is one slightly off topic, the Welly's Alfa 2600 in 1/24th scale coming soon. So now we will get a 2000 Spider 1957 from Quattroruote and a 1962 2600 spider from Welly's in 1/24th scale. Alfaclub.nl reminded me of this one that I had posted a few pages back. Here is a link to more detailed photos of the cars: http://diecast1-24.blogspot.com/ Next up the very nice looking 1957 2000 spider model. Another never been done in 1/18th scale model. It ofcourse has been done in 1/43rd. Tom Tanner/Ferrari Expo 2011-Chicago March 19th 2011
The Alfa 2000 1957 is out today and looks like one of the best to date. Scale Designs is working on the Carrera Panamericana 1900 1954 1/24th scale decal sheet. It will have historical original logos for other Quattroruote models. I also might add a few Mille Miglia decals for the 2900 and 1750. By the way, no one has ever done a model of the 1947 Mille Miglia winner in the correct color(that includes BBR!!). That is because they have recently discovered it was a different color than originally thought. The Quattroruote 2900 body is correct except on the rear wheel arch shape. They did not use the covers during the race. Credit for photos on right bottom corner.
