So what size is recommended for the regular 430 in Brigstone RE11 225/35 front and 285/35 rear, basically stock size?

You won't find RE11 in 225/35-19. You go with 235s up front. That's what I have on my "regular 430".

i'm in big doubt between MPSS and MPSC for my Scud, since i use the car 6-7 times per year on the track and very rarely in the wet, but i can't find many sizes for the MPSC... and i think the MPSS is little bit more fun on the street too! A friend of mine had the sport cup on a modified Z06 and he was happy except for the long time to reach the correct temperature of use.

    Any Feedback for MPSC?

Finally got MPSS installed on our '07: 235-35/19 front on 8.5 width; 295-35 rear 11 width. Super combo for the street in ride, turn in, and stick. No experience with rain yet. .

Its a great tire. I like it a lot, over the MPS2 I had previously.

I "accidentally" went with a 295/30/19 rear (ordered wrong size online), but should have gone 295/35/19 which is better suited to replace the original 285/35/19 with.

Has anyone had any bad experiences with the michelin pilot super sports on the 430 running these alternate sizes?

    Fede,

Avoid the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup, the only sizes that fit the Scuderia stock wheels are the 235/305 made for the 911 GT3, these are N-Spec tires that use thicker thread and more rain grooves. They are crap tires, I don't like them at all, and I have used 2 sets on my previous cars. They heat cycle with street use, they are dangerous in the rain.

Go with MPSS. Next set of tires for my Scuderia (for street use) are going to be MPSS. 255/30R19 and 305/30R19 will give you the best performance from a street tire. Anything faster than this combo on stock wheels is a race tire, and race tires don't last.

You will notice more dry grip than your existing tires which must be shot right now due to heat cycles, you might have very low grip compared to the tires when they were new.

I just got off the phone with someone at tire rack and was told that michilin makes a pilot super sport 225/35 19... So my question is what do you guys think about me running a 225/35 19 front and a 295/35 19 rear in the MPSS?

Why wouldn't you run 235/35 at front instead for a little better balance and less understeer?

Regular F430 on stock wheels: MPSS 235/35R19 and 295/35R19. They fit quite well on the stock wheels, while keeping the stock balance.

Scuderia/16M 255/30R19 and 305/30R18 on the stock wheels.

    Custom wheels, too many variables.

Get a car re-aligned after installing new tires, I'm shocked at how many out-of-spec Ferraris are on the road with ill alignments. It is always good to take measurements before and after alignment to identify the discrepancies the car had before alignment.

Rad, i totally agree about my Corsa and MPSS, but 2 weeks ago at Paul Ricard Circuit i saw a guy with a Scud and MPSC 255 front and 305 rear,(don't remember if /30 or/35) I don't know where he found those tires but were fitting the car perfectly and off course I had to work my ass off to get rid of him with my very used Corsas...

I usually check the alligments before fitting new tires,I don't know if checking after is worth it cause when a the suspension is discharged usually takes some kms before getting back to his shape and this would influence a bit the Camber values..

Why do you say its 'better' with the higher profile?

I "deliberately" run 295/30 R19's at the rear.

I'm running 235/35 R19's up front but will go with 245 on next change since I run a wider than stock 8.0" width front rim. I also run 10.5" rears.

The 30 section profile seems perfectly balanced to my butt dyno. The lower profile on the back seems to tighten up the back end, less tire roll. There is no noticeable profile difference visually either...

Sure, they corded after a mere 5 days of hard track driving on my GT3!

Only kidding, I thought 5 days was pretty good, considering. Not as good as Hoosiers, but at least you can drivbe them on the street.

For a road legal tire, they are not bad.

I meant "better" by being within +3mm in height compared to the original PS2 285/35/19. So the rake of the car etc. remain rather unchanged.

    Hmmm...
Actually, in practice on track ,I thought I felt the same with the lower profile tire.
Going from the 285/35/19 PS2 to the 295/30/19 MPSS made the rear more "solid" on track, so my butt dyno is working the same way as yours :)
I would also have gone with the 245 up front, but with the stock F430 rims, its too wide a tire.

E: BTW with the 295/30/19 I have the ASR kicking in occasionally. Maybe due to the decreased rolling diameter?

Is anyone Running the MPSS in sizes 235/35 19 front and 295/35 19 rear on their stock rims 430? If so I would greatly appreciate pics so I can see how it looks and decide if I want to go with these or not? Thanks once again.

Not on stock rims. I have them on HRE 19 rims an inch wider front and rear (8 1/2 front and 11 rear). I'm not sure the stock wheels will accomodate the width but some expert will know.

Glad to see that the MPSS are getting high marks. Had them on my 997, loved them and now want them on my 360.

My question is a bit different. So far this thread addresses 19 inch wheels. What about 18 inch starfish? Is it possible to fit MPSS? I can't find OEM sizes on tire rack's website. Will another size work?

Gents - I wanted to loop back to let you know that I ended up getting the Bridgestone Potenza RE-11. Although not fair for me to make a comparison to 10yr old Michelins, I agree with others on this thread that the Bridgestones are nice. I'm pleased and would also recommend them. What I've noticed most is the grip upon acceleration. No slippage... amazing! I'm looking forward to really wearing them in on some windy roads.

I also have a contact a Michelin and he confirmed that the OEM size for the 360 was not being made.

I am have scud wheels on my F430 spider and need to get rid of the stock 2009 tires. Pirelli corsa's. Horrible. Tire and old. I was planning on putting 285 PSS on the rear and the 235 fronts this week. After reading thru this thread can I not get PSS in that size? I believe my scud wheels are a little wider than stock so can i then do a 295 on the rear safely? Thanks

Mike- Should work fine with 295/35 19s. About 1% change in diameter so hardly noticeable by the odometer/speedometer or ABS.
