    Exactly. Took our first spin with the new ExotiCARe floor mats. After a vigorous shoe inspection, it was time for a nice jaunt in the country with the wife.

    Then this happened. Sometimes the road less traveled is not the best. I've been off road in the Cali, but not today, so soon after a fresh detailing.

    Tom if the pair of red driving shoes in the picture are your new Todd's which I reckon must have costed a small fortune, getting the matt dirty is of no importance at all and you should really concentrate on preventing any wear to the shoes. Below there is a possible solution.

    I bought the Tods about 2 years ago already! They were 60% off at the Ferrari store in Las Vegas, and my wife insisted to buy them, which is the only time in our many years together that her "I'm saving money by buying shoes on sale" strategy has worked on my behalf.

    Ha! The same thing happened to me.

    I subsequently bought a couple more pair and she got jealous, so she had to get her own pair!

    I don't blame her. Expensive impractical cars are your thing, no need to infringe on her expensive, impractical shoe territory. My wife collects shoes by the dozen, sandals, sneakers, slip ons, etc. on profusion but she doesn't really like the crazy expensive Jimmy Choo, Christian Louboutin, etc. types.

    Well Steve the story goes like this. Tom is one of my oldest friends on FerrariChat and has a great sense of humor and fair-play so I can do this kind of "tricks" and I know he doesn't get offended. What I did was, I placed on my apple computer pixelmator Tom's matt photo and the Tod's shoe photo as well and then re-scaled and re-oriented the first one and cloned the matt into the shoe side. Please don't tell me you like the shoe model because I might get funny ideas about starting a career in shoe design. LOL

    Tom, as you know most professions have the unpleasant side of duties and obligations but with the description you've just made I think the job of shoe designer has such an appealing and pleasant side which completely compensates for all the rest.

    Reminds me of the story of the Texan who kept bragging to the Okie. Finally to tell him how big his property was, he said he could be in his truck all day and not reach the end of his property.

    Yesterday was one of our favorite car events, Mayo in May. It's PCA organized, and is a great opportunity to see gorgeous Porsches from 356s to 918s & everything in between. We usually take my 911, but it was egregiously dirty, so we took the Cali! Perfect top down weather, and the fact that it was detailed by the good folks at Boardwalk a month ago, also helped. So, I spent the AM cleaning off the accumulated bugs from a month's worth of driving. Our PCA friends gave us some ribbing for showing up at a Porsche event in an F-car. We entered the Cali in the "Special Interest" division, and I'm happy to say, we brought home the bacon! Being the only entry in the division, didn't hurt!
    Great event, as always, and we got a lot of compliments on the car.
