I have a list of previous owners from the DVLA but didn't enquire with the FOC, I presume you need to be a member? Thanks Jon
This is old French registration ( of course ! ) but it lacks the end. There was then two digit that determines the French "département" where was registered car at that time
The current owner of #8659 confirms he has a copy of the original Bill of Sale from Ferrari themselves to King Hussein of Jordan. Specification as Marcel stated: Silver/Black headrest etc... Mark
The full record of this car is probably available from Tony Willis (The Ferrari Archive). This is nothing to do with the club but is a private commercial venture containing Maranello Concessionaires' files up to about 1975.
If he hasn't got them, then presumably they (or their electronic equivalent) are still in the possession of Maranello Concessionaires.
What JT said above. The ones that are with TW were essentially rescued from a skip, because nobody thought they'd be useful or important - so it's amazing that we have any left at all. Absolutely all of the equivalent records for Australia have been lost forever. -Ed
That is correct though if I am right Tony still has the overall Maranello log book which covers all cars including GT4s, though not individual files for GT4s which were destroyed before he managed to save what was left. Luckily for me he sold my car new when he worked for Coopers of Loughborough and remembers the sale in some detail.
Hi All, I am fortunate to have just acquired c/no 05466 from its local owner of 32 years. Long term registered 226 DON it was originally PMC 972L. Does anyone by any chance have any early photos of the car? It is interesting in that a local garage proprietor bought the car in 1985, after a country wide search, only to find this one "on his doorstep" in Hereford. Over the last 30 years, he simply took it out once a year for the MOT and service work, averaging just 64 miles per year in all that time! Congratulations - looks like a lovely car. If you enjoy yours half as much as I enjoy mine, you will be a very happy man. Concidentally, my wife's VW campervan is registered PMC 83L!
That b & w pic of E135 CPB is my old car, ZFFWA 1900000 73675. In Australia I believe. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks Martin, John and Grant - I certainly will be doing more miles than the previous owner! Cheers! Chris.
Came across this advert in June 1977 Motorsport. Anyone recognise it? Image Unavailable, Please Login
This 246 GT was advertised by Chequered Flag from this advert in February 1977-so actually January 1977 to June 1977-so actually May 1977. No registration number ,but it was possibly previously Gold, and whilst described as Red could have been metallic Red. Previous owner was apparently from the Bray area and possibly owned or ran a Ford dealership Image Unavailable, Please Login
FWIW, SYC 423L is on a Jensen that was first registered in May 1973. Would 409L definitely have been two months later? Taking an average on the UK cars, I'd say that the build month is usually 8-10 weeks before the registration month. So if we can nail down the first reg date / month, we can at least start to work back to narrow down the chassis number range. -Ed
