A bit optimistic .. well a lot optimistic ..
Yes for sure optimistic...! There are several that have been listed for crazy prices for a LONG time. I don't get it really....maybe they don't really want to sell.
This is a price point that the owner would part with his Ferrari. So whether it is thought of optimistic or the owners personal valuation is really subjective. I would imagine all the owners on the site have a realistic number that would trigger a sale if he or she was not forced to sell.
Could somebody post the Monterey auction results when they're available? I know some 328's are running and I'm curious to see the current market on these things. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Very true. That doesn't mean anyone else in the world would value it at that price, though. It's not just important as to what the OWNER believes the value to be. The opinion of the BUYER is also key. You can decide that your Corolla is worth $120,000 if you want to... but not many will agree with that valuation, nor pay it. Classiche or not, that car isn't factory-new perfect. $159K is certainly optimistic.
White/red 89 GTS $119,900. Someone added ugly aftermarket speakers and painted the targa top and rear spoiler white. https://www.lfsc.com/1989-ferrari-328-gts-c-1083.htm?
that one did not present well, had 47,265 miles, and was an '86 without a desirable color combo (in terms of market, not stating my own preference). still, i agree it was surprisingly low. conversely, the $140k (which means $154k after buyers premium) one at sotheby's was in very good condition from a known collector, model year '89 with desirable (per market) color combo and had only 8,520 miles. a further tailwind was that sotheby's on saturday was a madhouse. all but two lots sold, and this was after they hit a high water mark $20.5M hammer on an aston the prior day.
I see on the listing that it has a "Certificate of authenticity" from Ferrari. Is that the same as a "Classiche" or different? Jon

Nice looking car considering the mileage. It will be interesting to see if it fetches the asking price.
I would love this car at $50K if I had a spare 50. The mileage doesn’t scare me at all. It probably runs really frickin well
