Indeed. It seems he is both friend and enemy when clients want the newest, exclusive toy. :p
Must tell the wife we have an addition to the Christmas card list this year. Wonder if he'd like to come over for Thanksgiving dinner. Anybody know his birthday?
That's pretty interesting stuff. I feel like he would have no problem telling his son-in-law no if it came down to it, LOL.
"Buyers of all limited edition Ferraris must now sign a contract committing not to resell within 18 months – except to Ferrari at the price paid. Galliera says they have bought only one car back: a Swiss customer decided he wanted a historic Ferrari F1 racing car instead." Interesting, anyone know if that was someone here on Fchat?
Did D SK Lee ever get an Aperta yet? He must be desperate... to show the world, he "is able" to buy one... Thomas
Maybe David Lee didn't get on the LaFerrari list is because he doesn't race with Ferrari (Challenge, XX), does he? But forget that, Ferrari should have given Mr. Cartu's allocation to poor Mr. Lee. Talk about different personality styles. -F
Per contract partecipanti to xx program have the privilege to buy every limited edition they want? Thanks
All this talk about David Lee...anyone going to Morning Octane this Saturday? You can meet him there and talk to him in person. Sent from my 16M
Disagree. Mr Cartu is getting plenty of good press in the mainstream news here. The UK Sunday Times even had a half page article on him on Sunday. All good publicity for Ferrari.
It's my understanding that participation in one of Ferrari's race programs is one of the (unwritten?) requirements for super-Ferrari consideration. That and buy up the showroom several times over. -F
I'm just basing my opinion on Mr. Cartu based on what I see here. Who am I to believe, the Sunday Times or my lying eyes? -F
You have some proof I assume? Ideally something other than some court filing papers that do the rounds here which mean nothing without a judgement.
Looks like David Lee has his chance to buy an Aperta now if he is willing to put his money where his mouth is: https://www.autoblog.com/2017/08/24/ferrari-building-one-more-laferrari-aperta-for-charity-auction/?hcid=ab-around-ab-tile-14
Good shout. On instagram he tried to make it like he would be one of the 2 people to receive the barchetta HP, which I find highly doubtful considering they have much better clients than him.
GregB. posted on Instagram a render of a Barchetta HP, in his usual green and orange livery. The rendering also has HP signature in the bottom right corner... that kinda leaves only 1 car up for grab.
So what does everyone think about David Lee placing all his cars up the road from Pebble Beach and calling it "Casa Lee"? At Casa Ferrari, no one mentioned visiting it. Oddly, I never saw him at Casa Ferrari nor on the 70th Anniversary afterwards.
I've read that all the 3 HPs has already been sold and will stay in Europe. Except if one of the 3 buyers is indeed Greg so maybe one of them will move to the States but i suppose it will be a little bit difficult due to regulations.
