The car was originally a belgian car and then modified to be taken into canada, then it wnet back to Belgium, reinforsments are now taken away again, there was no severe rust only surface rust

That looks better, great it has all cleaned up ok, I think rust proofing of the chassis when built was a quick lick of black paint.

Still a bit to do yet, throttle linkage, pulleys for fuel pump, finishing up the fuel system and adjusting the doors/window frames as still not totally happy with them.

Yes the rust proofing from factory is not the best :) im glad i took it completly apart, a car can look fine on the surface but this is the only way to go, of to the painter this week, what suspension and brakes have you gone for ?

And thank you for sharing the adventure. The progress photos have been awesome viewing. I have followed along every step of the way. An incredibly difficult project done very well.

    Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.

Still a bit to do yet but first time the almost complete car has been outside, most of the remaining parts are ready for collection then just pulleys ans belts for the fuel pump and throttle linkage to sort.

That is very interesting placement for the alternator and oil filter. I gotta say that filter placement makes more sense for servicing. The alt, I guess I can see getting it in an easier place to access in case the belt breaks or slips off. It runs directly off the cam pulley? Are these common mods among the competition cars?

Hi Spencer yes all the comp cars had the alternator here for ease of servicing, some cars had remote filter others didn't. Original car shown, moved the filter so it wasn't over the exhaust however!
