I think he called it cappuccino in his interview with Dan Rather, which may have started the confusion, but I don't think he was being literal. Looks pretty much identical to my Cali, to my eyes anyway. OP... Great looking spec. With all that cream have you thought about contrast stitching for a bit of contrast...T
His exact words were "It’s cream and black and I call it my cappuccino". So, right, not being literal.
Resale will be horrible regardless of color combo, since the car is going to be her daily driver for 3-4 years and will end up with over 50k miles.
I think the avorio on the Lusso without shields will be a great look. Nice and stealthy by F-car standards...T
That's the point of it, have a Ferrari daily and minimize the effect on others to make life easier. Personally would go for something of a grey shade for even more stealthy look but it is her car and her choice so I'm not getting involved.
Finally the order is done, March production, should arrive in April. After all the discussions about Avorio she decided to settle on Grigio Silverstone with Charcoal interior and alcantara inserts, CF wheel inserts and CF shields. Initially she didn't want the shields but after seeing CF on a TDF she ordered them too. Very stealthy and unassuming looking car, for a Ferrari at least.....
Congratulations, I've seen exactly the same spec in a London dealer last month, charcoal leather with alcantara is amazing. It's a very elegant combination.
The wait is excruciating, car was supposed to arrive in early June and this is the production picture that arrived this morning: Image Unavailable, Please Login
In mine and other people's experience the production photos have lagged by anything from a week to a month so it's quite possible your car is already built.
You may be right, back in 2007 dealer informed me that my 599 was finally scheduled for production. Couple days later got another call to come and pick it up.......
That was their Lusso T demo maybe ? If so, I've driven it and the interior combo is indeed lovely. Would love to see an Avorio car though, as per the OP's wife's original idea .
Understood. Can you say when your order went in ? We were promised May build, ordered in Jan, and have no news yet as to when build will start.
Thats what happens.. its all over the place they get it to close to within a month or 2.. at best! Just try and forget it about it, I know its hard!
This may give you sense of timing. My 812 arrived late last month: The timeline of my 812 was: Green 10 ( order placed) 11/30/2017 Red 10 2/16/2018 Stage 30 3/16/2018 Stage 40 3/21/2018 First production photo 3/26/2018 Stage 60 3/28/2018 Stage 70 3/30/2028 Second production photo 3/30/2018 Third production photo 4/4/2018 Stage 90 4/9/2018 Car received at dealer 5/21/2018
According to your time frame I should not expect the car before August or so. She is NOT going to be happy, was hoping to have it for most of the Summer and not swap the wheels shortly after delivery.
