saw this on FB the other day https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1315256751918893&id=100003037437098 If you scroll near the end it looks like there is a red 348 in the flooded cars. Lots of porsche in there as well. Very sad.
I'd take that 348---fun track car. Also a white 360 and a white Alfa 4C....among other goodies there.
Speaking of which...has anyone heard from ///Mike? I haven't talked to him since before Harvey--and he hasn't been on here in about 4 weeks......hope everything is okay...
I know a guy that got his up to knee pads flooded; he opened door let water run out fired it up and drove off. Years later rust issues now. Worst issue is they’re NOT opening doors and letting interiors dry out— mold.
Yeah I had a friend contact me about bidding on a Copart Porsche for him. I searched 09 Porsche to find it and there are 9 -09 911s and 8 of them are flood cars. And that's just 09s. Amazing amount of cars hitting the salvage auctions. You know how many thousands didn't have full coverage to pay out on them and they are being cleaned up and sold on without a word.
Wrong! Worst issue is, with the car being sat in deep water, the water finds it's way into hidden nooks and crannies that didn't get much rust protection, and the cars start rusting from the inside, out of sight of the owner. They can look like perfectly good cars from the outside, but several years down the road, without the owner realising, they become death-traps due to having a severely weakened structural integrity from the hidden corrosion.
The Alfa 4C has a carbon tub, should be fine. Just pull the carpets, hose it out, some Febreze, and yer good to go! For the white Lam-bro-ghini, I'd dunk it in a large pool of distilled water, then fill it with a few hundred pounds of dried rice. Like the drying method for an iPhone! Sit for a couple days, Febreze, and yer good to go!

I find it amazing that with days and days of notice, people leave their cars like that to be flooded. I would have packed everything into that Testa and driven it northwest.
I'd still take it if the price is right! Also, I'll take the plastic bits and rear window out of the 348!
Anybody know anything about this car? I am looking at getting it but I'm wondering if anyone knows how to find out if it has any maintenance records or the extent of its damage. https://www.iaai.com/Vehicle?itemID=26103472&RowNumber=3
