Interesting, in the initial pic I posted, the angle doesn't show it but the titanio 612 also has no shields and it has black chromed challenge wheels. Seeing that west coast pic makes me wonder if the shield delete option had something to do with the color. I have never seen another shieldless car. Mine is also a black OTO. The black on black really suits the car's elegant lines. Looks especially good on an overcast day or at dusk, but in bright sunny daylight, I really like the way the silver shows off the car's lines.

By the way, that pic of the three together in Long Island was just a cruise night! All the planets aligned for us. Maybe we'll do a little better at the show this coming september.

 

I like the contrasting mirror covers. Are those covered or repainted? Factory? Cool look with the ball polished wheels. Are your calipers aluminum color?

 

Funny, you just described something that I noticed about the 612, and a reason I bought mine. It looks fab in a dark colour, and especially so in Nero.!

As far as shields go, I've seen it more on European cars than USA cars..

With so much real estate on the panels, it doesn't bother me either way even though cleaner without the shields..

Thanks, the mirrors are painted to be a close match for the wheels. There was an option for mirrors to be silver finished from the factory. Few cars have them, but I like the look quite a bit.

Yes, the calipers are aluminum finished so it all blends quite well in my opinion. I was thinking of doing carbon fiber shields and wheel caps as something of a change, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.... still thinking about it....

So close....but it looks like you have the HGTS exhaust or do not have the black chrome pipes option. Can't tell from the side. And for some reason, my fender badges show both badges on both fenders.(612 Scaglietti and pininfarina)

The only minor drawback of Nero (besides cleaning it all the time) is that the scallops can be hard to see at times.

Yes the scallops can be hard to see..

I like the CF shield and caps, but prefer the polished wheels.

Nice parking lot! Besides your 612 (which looks awesome!) i see a couple of Bentleys, a DeLorean and it looks like a Lotus. Sure beats my back yard!
