Purely out of interest as I remember the car does anyone know who now has the 400 a (or i, I'm not sure) that Frank Monte owned back in the early 90's?

Not sure if having him in the owner roster will increase the cars value, but it does add some colour to it's history.

No, #25043 if anyone wishes to look. It an "A" btw.

Not quite sure if you were having a lend, but do you really think that cars value could possibly be increased due to its association with:

Alarm as Monte's back on the case

His namesake manages a pleasant rap as well:

    Frank Monte - Mafia Wiki

As to a previous owner being responsible for an increase in the value of a car once on the market, I've never seen that occur, except for the value of vehicles owned by Steve McQueen.

With regards to the 400A above, I would suggest that the conduct of Frank isn't sufficiently different from many other FCA members to justify even a mention :)

err, there are many, many examples of celebrity Ferraris commanding a price premium.

Eric Claptons' cars come to mind right away.

It's too close to drinking time to be bothered looking them up. But how about the Miami Vice TR for a million bucks?

Good point on the Miami Vice car, I'd forgotten about that, but that's the car being associated with a film, not an individual. And same with the 308 GTS from Magnum, only 837 left out of the original 6.

But back to Clapton, was discussing this the other day and I wasn't able to find anything that suggested his name being linked to a car increased its value. Of course that's difficult to prove with a one off or a limited production vehicle.

I quite like the one offs that are built today, years ago some were quite questionable

Comes to mind as what? An expensive car yes, but did his ownership increase the value over one that was owned by a no name, unlikely.

Do Nick Mason's cars ever command a premium?

That's if he ever sells them, of course.

They would to me, even if only because I'm both a Floyd and a Ferrari fan. :)

    Sure you do

Maaaaate, that 330GT sold for the equivalent of $670k, about triple what other 330GTs were selling for at that time and still above what they are trading for now all because it was owned by John Lennon. I've got the tshirt to prove it and happen to be wearing it right now! :p

Carl,my 330 went for(as far as I know)a record price(at the time),certainly in Aussie, for a series 1.AND I'M NO ROCKSTAR BUT I PLAY A MEAN TRIANGLE,my car was VERY well known in the Fcar community(as you should know),and I believe THAT is partially contribuative to the value of ANY F(or any,really)car,boat,building...etc....hence Aircons' continual arguement re Aussie delivery.......in certain models.

Correct, a lend. I'd personally want a discount for fear the PO might try to get it back off you.

If the current owner is ever found out I'd like to tell them a story of when the car was bought by Mr. Monte.
