Yes - but if your willing to pay Ferrari will accommodate. A friend of mine has a factory delivered 575 painted in Lamborghini Orange, not an option or standard colour but they did it. Getting a 456 factory delivered with Barchetta modular wheels would not have been beyond the realms of possibilities.
oh and if someone wants a set of ex-Barchetta 19" modulars (so HGTC fit) for 7,000Euros, i know of a complete set in France (and could be have for a little less as need a refurb). Just PM me, and i'll forward the contact details
Great idea! The guys I sold out a lot of 550 parts for a while back, sold all four 550 modulars for about 800 USD. The car was broken, but the wheels seemed to be fine.
Pk- BS again. No, Ferrari would not, especially with a US spec car. There were two paint options for Ferraris then, out of range and paint to match, so nothing unusual about that, but no provisions for 18" wheels and tires and no matching and required tire sticker/plate. An owner could buy and fit those wheels from a dealer, but no way Ferrari was going to fit them as an option.
Here ya go guys, finally able to get some good pics. The wheels are TPMS compatible with 2 valve stems. The front "face" valve stem is located between 2 bolts just as the factory wheels and is used to add air very easily. There is another valve stem at the rear of the barrel that allows for the TPMS sensors. The wheels also use the factory lug bolts Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Chris, thank you...so these we are seeing above are you new wheels finished and painted? Do you have pics of the originals inside and how do yours compare to the OEM inside the rims. Is the manufacturing process the same as BBS? Are they painted inside like the outside? Do you clear coat them? In other words, other than the Ferrari/BBS logos vs. made in usa stamp, how do they look like, in terms of detail. If they inside looks the same - especially for concours -- it will help. Great job and initiative!!
They are painted on the inside and cleared. I wouldn't use them for concourse as they are not the actual BBS wheels. These are for guys who want the next best thing that look great and that you can use with no worries of damaging a wheel as we will be able to service the wheels or replace. I would even suggest to the guys with the real BBS modular to put theirs on the shelf and use these for driving, then when you sell the car put the BBS back on and sell these. From my expierince the original BBS were prone to crack and bending fairly easily.
Thank you Chris. What you are saying makes a lot of sense .Looking forward to seeing side by side photo comparisons of original and your USA version. Yours may be even stronger and lighter. The more info, photos and details you provide the more everyone will get excited and confident to order them. Looking forward to it. Thank you, Matt Asinari
Here ya go. As stated, these will not be 100% identical due to copyright. The most glaring difference to me is the bolts are different. But as far as copies go, its a pretty close and very nice wheel.Once on the car, it will be very hard to tell them apart. Image Unavailable, Please Login
More on the way, thanks for the patience to those who have paid for sets. cheers. Image Unavailable, Please Login
These wheels are now shipping guys. We should have feedback and images of the actual wheels on the cars within a week or so. Thanks to the customers who have already purchased a set.
OEM rears are 32 pounds and "4" ounces. The front are 30 pounds and 2 ounces. Ours are 32lbs in the rear and 30 lbs front. Very close.
