I'm currently adding another bay onto my garage for my Mondial to allow the Mrs to park back in her side for the winter. I have some ideas on how to decorate it and make it a tribute to the car and the heritage as well. I'm curious if anyone else has done this and how they chose what to put inside on the walls. I'm thinking of period photos (82), some of my favorite early models, some racing, and a few modern. And of course a few vintage posters. Thoughts?

I have pictures of all sorts of cars in my garage, not just the Ferrari but others as well. The main thing I did as tribute to the Ferrari was had my floors coated dark gray to match the car, and I'm painting the walls dark gray with a yellow stripe going all the way around the garage about Waist high.

    Hi

Here are a few things that I have one and a few that are on the todo list....

Vinyl 488GTB decals on the cupboard doors

    Neon Ferrari sign

    SF shield

    Ferrari PAM style clock

    On the todo list

A Ferrari Service sign....just got to find someone to make me one like the pic..think I have found someone

Some 70th anniversary decals and an enzo signature decal to go above the roller shutter

An Ferrari PAM style indoor thermometer...

And then maybe a upcyckled car seat as a chair...

    Regards

    Michael

Yes! a ferrari service sign will have to go in there! Love the other signs as well. I have an early 80s mondial picture "expo roma piazza" that I've had for at least 20 years. (And then I end up with a mondial go figure) What are your guys thoughts on reproduction signs and posters vs vintage?

    Hi

All of my stuff is new or recreation, and I have no issue with that, if anything you can then get it more tailored to your needs..

The only thing with vintage other than it costs a lot more is.......well.....it does sometimes look vintage...... I'm not saying I don't like it but it has to be the right piece at the right price.

Modern is cheaper and more options....

If I were a sign collector I would have a different outlook but all I want is an interesting looking garage for my car....

Not sure if that helps at all?

    Regards

    Michael

I would go with repro signs and spend the difference on keeping the car original and on the road !

Space it at a premium in my garage. Basically if there is room for a sign or poster, then there is room for a wall cabinet for more tools and parts so the cabinet wins.

However I took some of my Ferrari photos, printed and framed them and hung them above my main work area.

I needed a clock to keep track of just how late I am for dinner or picking up the kids so I got one that looks like a 911 tacho.

Finally I had to put this up because my kids bought it for me.

My garage is not anything like some of the crazy pics I've seen on here but it is Ferrari themed. Three walls painted Ferrari red and one wall painted Ferrari yellow with a red Ferrari flag on the yellow wall. It stands out with the yellow background. All my pictures are framed Ferrari pics. Too much crap in there to make it picture worthy. I got the color matches from official Ferrari brochures etc.

Too early...I read this thread title as "Ferrari Garage Boy" and thought someone was offering themselves up as a live-in caregiver. :D

I don't have photo's as I'm transitioning to a new garage (new house is under construction, old house is up for sale).

However, my decorator "theme" was/is car grills. I like to hit the local pic-n-pulls to find and buy interesting grills. I've got a Jag, several old MBs, old Volvo, older BMW kidneys, etc. I also hang interesting tags/decorations (for example I think the new vette stingray ornament is cool. Also, just because it was there, I bought a Jensen valve cover.

It's amazing what you can find at your local junk yards.

I'll post pics when the new garage is done and decorated.

Well I got sidetracked (bought a barn find porsche) , but I've been coming across some cool things on eBay. I think my cart is up to about 17 items ! I have yet to start framing yet, but I do have a material list now. Hopefully the hammers will start swinging this week. Snow is coming........
