I am doing a lot of research on this subject and came up with a company called Turbosource which came very highly rated. They are located in Minnesota and here is what F355Bob had to say about them in Ferrarichat , and their blankets they installed on his car. i He also provided photos of the blankets:
"I've had Capristo blankets and Fabspeed blankets on my F355. I now have Inconel shields that are far superior. You can run the car hard and put your hand an inch away from the shield and hold it there. You send your headers in and they make a shield and use buttons and safety wire." I chatted with the owner, a Mr. Elliot White, and I think I may go with them. What do think Dan, and the rest of the folks who are interested in this?

I've read great things about Inconel shields but I've never tried them.

If you do purchase a set for your car kindly share your experience with us.

    Thanks!

I plan to wrap a set Fabspeed F430 headers with 2" DEI Titanium Wrap. After reading your post, I assume that 100 feet should be enough for the job. How much did you have left from your two 50 foot rolls when you were finished?

It's mentioned in his post. It was an "off brand", not DEI. That said, I've used the titanium DEI wrap on some motorcycles I've had. It does hold up well, but when I removed it after a year, it did come apart in crispy sections although not quite as bad as what was pictured in Dan's link. I'm not convinced that's a long term solution, but rather still a "race" application that requires maintenance periodically.

I spoke with the guy at DEI today, he's has the titanium wrap on his race car for eight years with no problems.

Folks, I can only share my own experience.
You still want to try it - please proceed and hopefully your experience is better than mine.

Also, asking a company representative on how long their products hold up? What did you expect them to say?

He was one of the tech guys, and he gave me quite a bit of useful information. He sounded completely honest and I don’t think that it was sales BS.

The question to ask yourself is, would i grab hold of the exhaust after a run. The wrap is going to be a lot hotter than the blanket insulation. The blanket or shaped insulation is the only type you would fit to a high pressure steam pipe.

I already have the DEI titanium wrap. The plan is to wrap the Fabspeed headers and install them. Down the road, if the wrap fails I'll simply remove it in place and install a pair of either Fabspeed or Capristo blankets. I'll let you guys know how things work out.
