So I found the 599 HGTE I'd go for in a second. 2011, 1800 miles, red/tan (alcantara). Only problem , the asking price is about $280,000. That's F12 territory. Too bad, David
I don't really follow the upper end of the market for the 599, only the lower end (sub 180k) and I agree, get an F12.
You are both right. I wouldn't spend that kind of money for a 599. But for an F12, that's a real possibility. David
This car meets your criteria per your previous thread: https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/dealer/ferrari/599gtb/1843225.html
I looked hard at that one. I googled the VIN and found that when it was previously sold, it had a lot of the Hamann stuff bolted to the car. Now most of it has been removed. What happened to the holes in the bodywork? That's a red flag for me. The sellers couldn't provide a service history. Another red flag. Too many questions. A pity, since otherwise I would have bought it. David
I could be wrong but the Hamann parts bolt in using the existing holes under the panels, like the popular skidplates most install under the front bumper. Worth verifying before ruling it out.
Shame. Hope a better car pops up soon, or they knock down the price of the red one. Is an F12 a possibility? Newer tech, better engineered, more reliable.
You can see increasing prices in factory 599 HGTE in the last 12 month. In europe they are between 180 t euro (wrong color and too many kilometers) up to 250 t euro. I think that there is still potential to rise as there were not many HGTEs produced.
Have heard only around 300 factory HGTE's built, so yes quite rare and quite a bargain when new. You got quite a lot for the $30K option price.
I read the 300 number in this thread. (link below) Weren't there only 153 599's imported to US in 2010 and 247 in 2011? Even if 25% got HGTE option, that would be only 100 factory HGTE cars in the US. Can't be a whole lot worldwide. Agree it sounds low. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/612-599/471298-ferrari-599-production-numbers.html
I just bought a 2011 red HGTE with 2,850 miles on the clock 1 owner for quite a chunk of change. Was a tough pill to swallow as I was offered a black car for 15K less but it had 6000 miles and 3 owners. I love the car which is why I bought it but they are VERY hard to get hold of these days especially in right hand drive with low owners and miles. There are less RHD HGTE cars then RHD GTO's in the world....and look at GTO pricing.
+1 you have to strain to enjoy the F12 shape --whereas the 599 just has an easy attractive presence at one glance. (Imo)
2011 Ferrari 599 1 of a Kind! - Woodbridge $329,950 | autoTRADER.ca This car is amazing in my opinion and works out to about $245k USD before negotiating.
Agreed, the really late factory HGTE's are going to benefit from the rising GTO prices. I have seen several of the Alonso cars up in the big numbers and they are basically the HGTE with some ugly livery on them... I can see well kept low mileage HGTE's doing well. There are a few deals at the monent to be had on black ones but I saw several in black and they didn't float my boat.
Me too and I don't have a horse in the race. IMO in 20 years people will look at the long LED running light strips and say "WTF ?"
I Own a HGTE Red Tan was from Ferrari Madrid Dealer Comercial Manager ... Nov 2009 only 9800 Km I keeep it preciously ... There are only 200 HGTE Made by ferrari GTO 500 - 599, 600 Unites Made ...
