In the bay there are for sale 250 monza Carrera panamericana #21 & #22 in 1/18 scale in Hotel Prado livery. Maybe the company that makes the model (CMF ?) can inform us who was the driver of #21 and how many people they can fool by presenting it as a rare find.
Ha Ha.....I did get the model and it is pretty nice. The red is to dark, but not as bad as I thought from the photos. I have the 1/12th version. They made it in 1/18th scale also. They make a red version, car #21 and the real car #22. 100 of each.
A few shots of the Alfa 1900 1954 Alfa's. This unrestored car might be a ex Alfa Corse car. And a link: Duegieditrice.it ? Also a few Lancia B20 competizione photos for the 1952 cars. Same cars as used in the Pan Am race, although they added a bump on the engine cover and a supercharger. These photos are from the Mille Miglia. Notice all new body on the alloy Lancia Corse competizione cars. They scrapped them all. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Duegieditrice.it ? Leggi argomento - Panamericana The correct colors for the numbers on Pan Am cars in 1954. I am thinking about reprinting just the numbers for my 1/24th scale Alfa Romeo 1900 Pan Am sheet that I did a few years ago, with a few other corrections also. They will be printed by Cartograf again if I do it. Image Unavailable, Please Login

More color photos from the 1954 race. I think the 550 photo has the Champion sticker pictured on the fender. They seem to have added them at some point during the race. Well I worked over a resin hand built. Kind of a toy like model but the only large scale model available. I added new tires and wheels, drilled it out so that the wheels would sit right. Repainted as much as I could and outlined the panel lines. The color is to dark, but the restored real car is also to dark a red. I painted the seats to match 1954 Pan Am photos. The roundels are to small and it needs the center tail light still. Base is clear sheet with a white styrene sheet covered with stones and painted. This is a 1/12th scale model. Model will be in the Pan Americana 1950-1954 display at Ferrari Expo near Chicago on Saturday March 19th. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
