Jack a $ $ Italian media.
Yep, it's not something he'd be wanting to receive, but he would have seen it coming. We need a good weekend next up, maybe a win and podium, and that will get the Italian media well and truly behind ferrari. However, it's only going to make the off season more pleasant for ferrari as the titles, assuming elton doesn't DNF at least once, maybe twice, are long gone and it's racing for pride now. Seb will be rueing falling for the brake test, especially for the second time, in Baku, as that karma has followed him ever since like a gremlin in a bottle of water..
They have no problem with kicking someone while they are down, and see losing your job as the modern day version of a roman legionnaire falling on his own sword. That's what they want to happen, arrivebene to quit, or be sweatered out
Can't remember where it was, but caused vettel to slam his brakes on, and Webber crashed into him, someone else mentioned it here recently too. He's pretty used to doing it, remember him doing it to Perez in Monaco too a few years ago, and several others. Mind you, he's the only person I've ever seen to crash into the back of a parked f1 car in the pit lane too
If you're going to fire someone, you'd better first have some idea of the possible replacements. If they're not qualitatively better, don't make the move.
Absolutely, he needs better support, better managers beneath him, and likely, the boss leave the sporting division to plan its own changes. Marchionne shouldn't be badgering them so hard publicly at least
http://www.racer.com/more/viewpoints/item/144998-buxton-sympathy-for-the-devil Adding heat to the rumours surrounding Arrivederchi.Buxton saying he will be 100% toast.
Buxton is way too dramatic. I would never call this season "annus horribilis". Not by a mile. This was the first time in many years they actually realistically fought for the WDC. Alonso never got that close with the crap cars they built for him. The team is clearly on the up. Just not exactly there yet, but that can change.
Yes, Alonso ****ed up big time..he didn't even had the balls to stick the nose into Petrovs..but he lost the title way before that making silly mistakes along the way, like crashing at Monaco, or spining the car in Australia, or screwing it in Canada, etc, etc..in the end they blamed some poor racing engineer and sacked him to cover Alonso screw ups...
The tragedy for Ferrari, was that after Brazil Fernando was leading Sebastian (Red Bull) 246 - 231 points and only needed to finish 4th to take the title. 7th place was game over.
I don't know, FA lost two WDCs to Seb by a total of seven points. I'd say that's pretty close in less than optimal machinery. And we can thank Grosjean for at least one lost WDC.
OCTOBER 23, 2017 Marchionne plays down Arrivabene axe reports Ferrari president Sergio Marchionne has played down speculation team boss Maurizio Arrivabene could soon be ousted. Reports have suggested Arrivabene will take the blame for the Maranello team's collapsed 2017 title chances, with technical boss Mattia Binotto to succeed him. But president Marchionne said in Austin: "We have improved as a team with the set of people we have. "We have a little bit of trouble, but last year if you'd told me we'd come here in 2017 fighting for the title I would have laughed," he said in Austin. "But for the most part of the season we have been a credible competitor to Mercedes. It's a recognition of how the team works, so let's not now go and talk about changes. "We created continuity with the renewal of Kimi and Seb," Marchionne added, "and for now I don't want to say anything else except that continuity is essential." However, another rumour is that with Kimi Raikkonen signed on for only one more year, Ferrari sees Daniel Ricciardo as a worthy successor to the Finn. "I watch all of them," Marchionne is quoted by La Gazzetta dello Sport when asked specifically about Ricciardo. "We will also have to see where we put Leclerc, Giovinazzi," he added. As for how Ferrari's season collapsed so suddenly in the recent tour of Asian races, Marchionne answered: "Honestly it started in Monza. "It's difficult, but from Monza onwards we understood what happened and it will not be repeated. "I have spoken to Arrivabene and Vettel here and they are focused and still believe in us. They need support, because the chance to recover from here is less than 50 per cent. "But saying this, Ferrari cannot surrender," said the Italian-Canadian and Fiat chief.
OCTOBER 24, 2017 Vettel defends Arrivabene amid axe rumours Sebastian Vettel has backed Ferrari's reportedly endangered team boss Maurizio Arrivabene. After Vettel's title campaign collapsed amid a car reliability crisis, rumours emerged that team president Sergio Marchionne was eyeing technical boss Mattia Binotto to replace Arrivabene. But Marchionne said in Austin: "We created continuity with the renewal of Kimi and Seb, and for now I don't want to say anything else except that continuity is essential." Vettel, meanwhile, is emphatic about the good job Arrivabene is doing. "In the past, Maurizio was often criticised," the German is quoted by Auto Bild. "But he does a good job and has become a real leader." And when president Marchionne was asked specifically about whether Arrivabene carries the can for Ferrari's technical problems, he is quoted by Turun Sanomat: "No, no. "Both Mattia and Maurizio were involved in the process. To assign guilt would be pretty idiotic. Technically as CEO I am also involved," Marchionne is quoted by the Finnish newspaper. Ferrari's ultra-successful former technical boss Ross Brawn urged the Maranello outfit to buck the storm of its late-season title collapse. "The team is under unnecessary pressure," Speed Week quotes the F1 sporting director as saying. "They should now be calm and focus on the end of the world championship." Marchionne agrees: "The important thing is that the problems are solved and that we win. It is never about one person. "The three Asian races were the sum of unlucky events, and the likelihood of a recurrence is low. "We have made one change to the organisation by bringing in an experienced expert to strengthen the quality side of things. This team knows how to win," he insisted.
