Guys, Not too clear to me 12,5 liters of engine oil + the Tutela Booster oil or 12,5 liters altogether ? How much Tutela is added per oil change? Thanks! Rgds, Fernando
Did you ever find out how much Tutela is added to an oil change? Is the Tutela in addition to the oil amount? [email protected]
I'm about to change the oil in my 599. It's a fun afternoon project. I think the Shell is great. I believe anything that has API SN or SP is good with the right weight. I also put a full quart of tutela in. I get that from Miller imports and my oil locally or online. Have fun...it's good to bond with your car!
How much new oil you have to fill in, depends on how much old oil you get out of the engine. oil tank engine pan lines to oil cooler oil cooler So you can't say 12 or 12,5 liters + the Tutela or incl. the Tutela If you get out 11 liters, both can be too much. So, try to get out all old oil, fill in 8-9 liters, get the engine warm for opening all lines, then the complete Tutela, check the level like written in the manual and fill up with oil to the demanded level. I checked the record of every oil service on my 599, completed by various Ferrari dealerships across the UK, everyone had the Tutela oil additive on the bill. As stated this was introduced by Ferrari to cure valve rattle on cold start up. PS For gods sake follow the instructions, do not overfill this engine with oil, it will bugger it up big time. The last Ferrari tech i spoke to said that some Ferrari engines will allow a little over the limit, the 599 engine is not one of them!! If you do overfill the oil gets sent into the air intake system, ouch!
