Hi all just been in the shed having a look at the car, have had a fuel smell on left hand side buttress area and the cars going on to workshop on Monday for ac regas and sort out smelly issue, so curiosity got the better of me and I opened the roof half way to have a sniff around take a look ect,the roof cycled back ok but when you turn the ignition off the rear section (aluminium painted) sinks then instead of going through full top down cycle I went to close it and it caught Briefly on the soft top cradle ,and then luckily went down I then cycled it 5 times and it seems ok no contact whatsoever and escaped with a scrape on the underside of the rear section otherwise no damage .Just a heads up if your stopping the roof halfway for Any reason carry on with the cycle direction you started with If you haven't already read this case before cheers Knocker

Fuel smell likely to be broken a roll over valve. Unfortunately a pain with a spider (apparently) as the roof cassette has to be lifted out.
Lucky escape with the roof though and good luck with the fuel smell. At least you picked it up before it went BBQ

2002 onwards cars have access panels on top of each fuel tank, no need to lift the whole roof off.

I'm not a specialist but don't think it's that simple. IMO retro-fitting access panels would cost a bomb, if at all possible.

you'd better speak to a good mechanic - maybe Ryan from Maranello Motorsport. It could be as simple as removing the old liner and installing the new one, but in my experience it's rarely the case with Ferraris.
