Out of interest, what would be the cost differential in Aus these days for two very similar 355s, one being official import, the other being a grey import? and what are the specification differences between UK and Aus spec versions?
$29375.23 $29375.23 Very difficult to compare prices because the condition and colours tend to be different. Often UK cars will have red carpets, which is not popular in Australia so it s difficult to find a similar car. The other issue is condition, UK sourced 355's can be rusty underneatch. Technically the cars are essentially the same. My guess is price difference can be anywhere up to 25%. It's an irrational difference, the cars all came from the same factory, the differentiator should be condition & spec, not where it was first delivered M
Well, potential buyers who really care about Aus delivered won't even call (although one or two loosers - who aren't even potential buyers but more likely owners of Aus delivered cars - will feel compelled to call and say "mate you're dreaming. It's an import so is worth nothing"). The ones who do call and are interested don't actually care about it being an import but will pretend it's a big deal to try to get a few more $ off. In terms of spec, the U.K. ones are more powerful. They are also naturally faster because they have red carpet.
So so so true. As someone stated Just a few time wasters protecting their own investment but I can understand that. Mines imported and couldn't care less about 1 letter being D or A or anything else but that's just me.
Well, at least he's probably got a licence. Sell it to Ian. He's looking to upgrade and by all accounts (from the GG) doesn't mind a hot-rod or two.
