This was at Continental on Friday. What a beautiful car Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Marcel, where does it come from? It's the car from California (David Lee)? Same car that was at Cavallino?
I think Lee still owns it. At least on his Instagram account shows it as 'cars in his collection'.. Spectacular car though.
I trust Marcel that this is the same car, if so my dealer at Continental told me the collector from Illinois just bought it. The same guy has a LaFerrari too. He took my #3 allocation I was supposed to get at Continental. Bitter just a bit...ha, I'll get over it assuming they get me the LaFerrari spider
It was bought by a collector from IL. I saw the car last week when it was just unloaded from the truck.
Spot-on as always Marcel! Thank you. I should also add that the name of the car (and thus this thread) should be "GTO Evoluzione", without the '288'.
This is what wikipedia says, and they are never wrong Ferrari also built five 288 GTO Evoluzione models with more aggressive and aerodynamic body styling and increased power. The engine in the 288 GTO Evoluzione originally put out as much as 650 hp (480 kW). With weight of 940 kg (2,072 lb) the car had a top speed of 225 mph (362 km/h).[2] These cars form the clearest visual link between the 288 GTO and the F40 soon to follow. All five are still in existence with one owned by the Factory on display in the engine manufacturing facility in Maranello.
Not your fault at all, thank you for sharing the images. This is the same GTO Evoluzione which gentleman owner Larry Stroll sent to my 2009 GTO Reunion. Wikepedia simply needs to delete the "288".
Just FYI: The factory certification states "288 GTO Evoluzione". Not just "GTO Evoluzione". That was in December 2006. Marcel Massini
