Yes - i know this, but thank you anyway. so i think we can assure, that the car is a GTB Turbo and not a special 208 - right ?

Well it is matter of terminology. In terms of engine , it is always a V8 with 2 liter displacement, so both can be called 208. The GTB turbo however has the features of the latest 328 body. The interior lay-out as well as the chassis (i.e front nose ) are derived from the 328 series. So that you may say that the GTB turbo is like a combination of a 328 car with a 2 liter turbo engine.

Whatever became of the Ford GT, car number 194 in that race? Was it produced as a spyder by the factory? Or was the top removed later?

As to what happened to it, it was believed to be chassis GT111 - see:
    http://www.classicscars.com/chassis/gt40.htm

(so it could be another of those mysteries you like so much, Arlie!)

    ;-)

but I don't know whether it came from Ford GB as a coupe or not.
