Red face Best Buy rant part 2

Ugh, I just can't let it go and tried to send BB an angry but respectful email thru customer service and I don't think it went thru b/c the submission page just stayed blank.

I came across their community forum, http://www.forums.bestbuy.com/t5/Tab...s/bd-p/tablets, and I see I'm not alone..

I tried to submit this via the email customer service option, but apparently there are too many compliants being filed right now...
Let it go, let it go, let it go...not working, not working, not working...just like BB's customer service.

You are more obsessed than I am!

You know what is going to happen...HP is going to release 100,000 of them soon and you will be able to get as many as you want...

I believe this just goes to show that although there are a lot of people out there that would like a tablet PC, the cost barrier is just too high.

When most people already have laptops, it is probably difficult to justify spending another $400-600+ on yet one more device.

At $100, everyone wants one. I suspect the sweet spot is somewhere around $200-400 for a decent mid range Tablet. I know I would be extremely tempted to take the plunge at around the $300 range for a decent Android tablet.

$300, and marketing. If you can find a Touchpad for 300 or under, and you primarily would use it for web and email, I can't stress enough how much better it is than an android tablet.

For a ~$250 android tablet, just get a barnes and noble nook color. You can root (jailbreak) it with CM7, and it becomes a fully functioning android tablet. It's not the fastest tablet, and it doesn't have camera/gps, but for basic netsurfing, email, etc it works great.

My wife loves hers.

I called the HP store Saturday, and I was told there would be some released on Wednesday. It's best to phone in an order, because they won't be canceled (but the online orders can be if the tablets are oversold).

If you call HP, they will take your name and email address - then send you an alert when the tablets are going to be released. 888-921-6721

They started selling them here for 99€ yesterday. HP store is unreacheable since. Shows they competence as a SAAS/cloud computing provider!

I got mine through CDW yesterday; the prices didn't drop until mid-morning, and I already had an email into my sales rep there.

Just curious, 16 or 32? I know a couple people in IT that went that route too with success.

Angry no case for us

Ugh, just found out our order for 3 cases was cancelled by the seller.

I'm sure I can find a way to blame Best Buy for this!

There is a frenzy for cheap (< $20) cases and all are sold out or the price went up.

I've checked several local stores and they're out

Now I have to decide whether to buy more expensive cases or wait out the frenzy and hope some are available afterwards. Double ugh.

Damn you BB and case seller!

The HP touchpad official case is crap. Serious crap. for the MSRP of $50, I feel like it is barely stronger than construction paper. It would help keep the tablet intact in case you drop it; but that is about it. I'm returning mine... and debating weather or not I'll keep the toushstone charger. It's neat, brings up a clock app that otherwise seems to be hidden.

Good to know; thanks. Is the "toushstone charger" the charging dock? That does seem pretty cool and I have my eye on it. If I can find one < $40 I might get it.

Yeah, the charging dock is neat. For one, you can set it up to do sideshows, or play a movie, and actually see it without holding it.

I assume you would have to take it out of a case to charge, correct?

FYI, case is down to $35, maybe you can get the difference refunded: http://www.shopping.hp.com/product/t...B343AA%2523AC3

It isn't worth $35. Maybe $12 at best.
