Translated from Auto Sprint:

13th position for Hybrid P4/5 on the Nurburgring 1st season race

Good first race for the hybrid version of P4/5 Competition.
Last Saturday the car, driven by Giovanardi-Larini-Lauck, took part to the first VLN meeting in Germany, at the Nurburgring, in view of the classic 24 Hours on 19th-20th May.
After 2 hours and 26 minutes, the race - interrupted an hour and a half in advance due to the fog – saw the car ranked thirteenth, but more important, it has been demonstrated the good KERS working - at its first development stage - and a good aerodynamic balance.
When it started raining, approximately an hour after the race started, P4/5 C actually resulted to have been always among the fastest cars, performing a good recovery with Larini and Giovanardi, while on the dry asphalt,it still suffered from a poor top-speed, due to the small engine air flanges (in relation to the car weight). The P4 / 5 Competition, whose shapes are inspired to the Ferrari 330 of the 60es’ was commissioned by the American businessman Glickenhaus and built by LM Gianetti and is based on the Ferrari F430 GT2 mechanic, while the KERS system was developed in collaboration with Magneti Marelli.

We've come a long way and have a long way to go but we were the fastest non German Manufactured car and we beat a lot of very serious teams.

Fantastic progress you've made!
Funny how the McLaren-team has been beaten by an even smaller team. Good luck on the road ahead!

Good. Very, very good. Can you elaborate a bit more about the weather?

Thanks for sharing the photos, Jim. The KERS system seemed to have worked well in its maiden race. Impressive.

How was the new suspension? Was it better for overall tire wear?

Did the handling balance remain consistent with new suspension and/or improved aero over the race duration? I seem to remember that you had too much understeer last year.

Just curious being an ex race engineer.

In the rain we are very fast as we have a lot of downforce and our lower HP (engine) matter's less. We're going to try and further develop the engine and get the KERS to work better.

Our new suspension is very good and makes a big difference. We'll be tweaking that as well and went to new shocks which also helped and withstood the force of our flying further than last year.

Competing with the the Factories is very tough but if we can get a bit more hp we'll have a chance.

If you can get them to show up. I think you may actually have them a little nervous.

Awesome work. Fantastic results.

And damn!!!! That car is just sexy.

Love the glowing brake disc photo! Jim, any plans for a scale model of this years iteration of the car? No offense to last years, but the lines on this version are much more pleasing to look at

We're trying to put that together.

I love the glowing exhaust photo - it almost looks like additional brake lights!

There you go Jim: since we're all highly impressed by glowing things, perhaps you should add some battery-powered glowing features on the next production run of the scale models.

All the best,
Andrew.

I think Mrs. Joker can help with the glowing things...

SWEET vid Jimmy!

That was total BS the Porsche putting the McLaren off like that. Total pit maneuver in my opinion.

They have got to let you have more air. How much more weight do you have to carry for them to let you run uncorked?

That won't happen but we hope to get a little more.

After seeing the latest from Ferrari I realise that something must be done about P 4/5 CM's
lack of paint.

I've instructed our stylists to come up with some ideas.
