Here they are. Not great but Sunday, and the cars were tired.

I enjoyed my Saturday thoroughly, but I am without Internet service at home for the time being (I'm writing this during my lunch break at work) so it may be awhile before I can post photos.

I attribute the fog that didn't burn off until 12:30 to the massive number of British cars in the corrals, who evidently brought their own weather! But I did enjoy the parade laps on the track from the passenger seat of a 1972 Triumph TR-6, and I'll have photos of that as well. I don't think I had seen that many Triumphs at British Motorcar Day!

Now that I'm back in posting mode, I figured I'd chime in with some of my own. These were all taken on Saturday, when the (British?) fog didn't burn off until after lunch. This first batch were all taken in the corrals (and Vendor Village) in the A.M.

As you can see, there were a Staggering number of Triumphs (sorry, I couldn't resist) and lots of other British cars. The blue GT4 kept driving by, but I never did see where he wound up. The all-black Ford GT looked positively sinister, and the silver MGF immediately following was a model I had never seen before (not imported into the U.S.).

The only other Ferrari to join the Gatorrari in what was supposed to be the Italian car corral (but was infested with Germans instead!) was Dr. Cosgrove's Tidemobile. I eventually moved my car to where the other Italians had found space, but Tommy's 308 stayed there all day.

And when is the last time you saw a Nash-Healey race car?

I was parked directly opposite the exit of the Triumph corral, and as the lunch hour approached, most of them began to exit and queue up for their parade laps, blocking the road for awhile before they decided to move them to the hillside paddock that overlooks the front straight. But the delay was long enough for me to be offered a ride in the right seat of a 1972 TR6. Since I wasn't doing anything special during the lunch hour, I figured, why not?

There must have been 100 Triumphs in the pack, of just about every model imaginable, so needless to say we didn't go particularly fast, but it was fun to be on the track again. I probably had not been in a British car since the rented Austin that I had driven on my 1990 trip to the U.K.

Hey that looked like a lot of fun in the Triumph parade Jim. Great pics thanks for sharing them! That MGF convertible is scarce in the states and really cool looking. Like a baby Qvale Mangusta.

MGF

Whose MGF was that? I have always liked those. How in the world would one go about getting one imported and legally registered in the US? I always see tons of them for sale pretty cheap in the English classic car magazines. I'd love to one day import some interesting, oddball fun car that was never offered for sale in the US, but wouldn't have a clue how to begin the process.

Something like one of these:

I only took a few more photos "up top" after lunch, even though the sun finally came out. But these included our relocated Italian car corral. And no, I have no idea what the cutaway doors on that BMW Z4 were supposed to accomplish. (Fast bailout, perhaps?)

I'm packing for a short trip so my photos from the paddocks and the track will have to wait for next week.

Finally, some paddock pics, including a wrecked Home Depot stock car, an Alfa Romeo with some cute markings, and a very special Triumph.

The last of the paddock pics; the racetrack ones will follow eventually.

I particularly liked the #30 Lola T70, driven in the Can-Am back in the day by some tall gent from Costa Mesa. Note the bumper sticker!
