FoSV told me that only 2 or 3 out of the 40 F430s they've delivered have owners under age 40. How does that compare to F-Chat owners? I am 41.

Seems about right ;) The price of the 430 weeds out a lot of people. I don't think there are near the same number of 20/30+ something, dot commer/entrepreneurs, that there were when the 360 first came out.

I'm sure the 2nd hand market is much younger.
    Low <1500 Mile 'Used' F-Cars.

The whole purchase 'new' Ferrari experience sounds like a pain in the @#$ and a lot of drama. Takes a while to get there I guess.

I am very surprised at this statistic (especially for this dealership). I would have thought the ratio was much higher with all the .com money.

To answer your question, I am in the "under 40" age group. Wow! I feel privileged!!

Turned 30 yesterday, but was 29 when I took delivery of my 430 (couple of weeks ago). Other than myself, I had only heard of 1 or 2 Ferrari owners under 30 here in Michigan and none owned a 430. I could imagine there are a lot of Ferrari owners under 30 in California & the Miami area.

Happy Birthday Jeff. I hope you are enjoying your F430. The weather is supposed to warm up later in the week so hopefully you will get a chance to drive your car a lot more now.

I'm hoping for an F430 this year, which would put me at 36 or 37, depending on timing.

I have a 360 to bide my time - and got then when I was 35.

I dunno about that. I'd be in the market for a 430 if I didn't have taste (ah ha! :D) and while I'm an outlier, I can think of plenty of people definitely int he sub 35 range who are on the list / owners / have more expensive cars.

    Hope this helps.

I'm just going to list the age and state of a few owners I know off the top of my head personally.

    30-35*, CA
    24, FL
    50-55*, TX
    42, MO
    38, KS
    29, CA
    47, CA

I'm probably missing a few and the ones with stars by them are just estimated ages since I don't like to ask people their age.

I'll be 34 by the time I get a F430, but I was 20 when I bought my first Ferrari.

Maybe in your neck of the woods. I've yet to meet any 430 owners down here that are under 40. (that have purchased themselves) I'm sure there are a few but from what I see it supports the original posters claim.

.com money makes a difference -- but remember that FoSV has been open about a year and totally missed the bubble. people are much more conservative with their money these days.

I dont get the emphasis on age. There are things I bought in my 20s and 30s that were WAAAAY more expensive than a 430. I feel better that instead of buying a F430 at 30, I made investments that allow F430 purchases outright, every year if I wanted to, at 40.

mw575 - congrats to you. when I'm 72 I want to be buying the latest, hottest supercar.

Thanks Tom. I've only put a couple hundred miles on it so far bcz of the lousy Michigan weather since I got it. I had it up at Twelve Oaks yesteray and within 5 minutes of pulling up, there were 2 different carloads of ricers that pulled up & got out to get a closer look at it. I thought I would get much less of that than my previous exotics since this one is a dark color, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

Wow! I'm second from the oldest of the responders here at 58. I bought too many other cars before the Ferrari thinking I could find a substitute for the car I always wanted. Spent way too much on those other cars I no longer own.
