OK, kinda goofy question here: wondering if the doors off a 355 might fit on a 348....anyone know? Motivating factor here would be the desire to get rid of the Testarossa-like intake slats in favor of the cleaner 355 doors. The f/r fendors looks very similar and the doors look similar dimensionally but I haven't tried measuring anything. Thanks in advance to anybody that might know something.

Don't think you need the whole door, just the intakes. Easy to swap.

Not something I would do personally as the 348 strakes are pure late-80's Ferrari and I'm not a fan of 'Frankenstein' cars. Either way if you keep the originals safe theres no harm done.

It's just four bolts to undo to pull out the Testarossa-like intake slats.

And the two 10mm nuts on the inner face at the front of the door, and the cap screw under the door handle.

If you change to the 355 door intakes change also the inlet part under the door. Because that hole doesn't look good in combination with the 355 intakte. Or just cut out the strakes.

If anyone wants to change 348 to 355 to get "pure late-80's Ferrari" style just call me :) otherwise next week i will cut out the 80 style strakes :) ... 80's sucks 90's rules

Yes but hey i'm old enough that i don't put led lights in the headlights, neon stuff under the car , 10 subwoofers in the car or 1000 blue LEDs anywhere else all around the car.

These cap screw where can i find it is it visible with the door handle in place? Or do i need to remove the doortrim also to get the door intakes out of the door?

Buy a 355,the strakes are one of the things that make a 348 the car it is.

Thanks all - great comments and very helpful. Hold the 80's strakes, I'll take a extra helping of the clean looking 90's.

I've disassembled the doors today and there are no screws under the door handle. Only the 4 Screws on the Intake and two 10mm Nuts on one end of the Intake. 5 minutes of work.

This brings up a question - does the 355 use the same door jamb wiring plug pin connectors as the 348? If someone wanted to install 355 doors on a 348 (why??) would they have to rewire it? I don't believe I've heard of 355's having the problem with pin corrosion.

    Oh well. Still looks good.

But...the black plastic on top of that front hood looks different than on my 348.

I know there was a company that made bodykits for the 348 to turn it into a 355. Not just the doors, but the entire car.

You don't need bodykits thats all compatible. trough 348 - 355. Some parts can only be mounted in combinations like if you put the 355 hood instead of the 348 rear hood or 348 for 355 you need to change the rearfenders also and then you need to change the rear taillight assembly also. And also the side skirts. Bumpers fit without combination items. Doors also. Fronthood also. Interieur. Sideskirts need the rear fenders or need to modify a bit.
To the door intakes they don't bolt right on without some changes. They don't have the 4 mounting screws from the outside. instead of this they have two mounting points one on top and one on the buttom of the intake. But you can leave them unconnected just the two 10mm nuts on the front and the screw behind the door handle good idea maybe some chassis glue like SikaFlex instead of the dry sealing that it is sealed and stable on the door. Or better cut out the stakes does look better in combination with the 348 side skirt intake.

You don't need any body kit. All you have to do is get the parts off of a crunched 355. They bolt right up.
