My 26 year wait is over! I remember having a poster of this car on my bedroom wall when I was in elementary school... Arrived this morning from Dallas. Norwoods fixed a few small things for me after purchase. Those guys are the best. They had some beautiful cars there, including the twin-turbo Testarossa that I remember from the cover of C&D (? R&T) in the late 80s. Even though I am not a "big spender" compared with their other clients, they spent loads of time with me and patiently answered all of my "newbie" questions.
Back to the point. I will post more pics soon. I am waiting for my wife to return home so that I can pass off the kids and go for a drive!

Congratulations! I was wondering, why don't you have a passenger side mirror?

I think it was optional on the early 308s (?)

I don't know if it was optional or not, but my '82 GTSi did not have a passenger side mirror when I bought it. I did put an aftermarket one on (Vitalone was the name, I think...) about 6 months later. Definitely a good thing to do :) !!

Spencer - Congrats on your 308!!! Great intro to the world of Ferrari!!! Enjoy it!!!

Thanks everyone. It was great driving it around today. My wife finally called me to see if I was ever going to come home!

330GT 2+2: Your car is beautiful. I had never been close up to one of those before. I can see how people become obsessive about finding different models after seeing yours.

branko: I noticed the same thing during my PPI. James and Mike at Norwood told me it was fairly common in this time period. I also came across it reading a few nights ago. According to Bluemel in "Original Ferrari V8," a single manual Vitaloni "California" mirror was standard through '79. The passenger-side mirror was an option. When the GTB/Si series came out, a driver-side electronic mirror became standard. Two electric mirrors became standard with the QV.

I took it over to show my mom. She sat in the driver's seat, noticed the 'Cavallino Rampante' badge and asked "is this a Ford Mustang?"

Glad the Norwood boys too care of you...didn't start out looking at just the 330, but once I saw it on the Heritage Classics website and it was listed right around $50k, thought that was the best buy on earth..a early V12 that looks like that??? but at the time, a lot of the market didn't see them that way..
nice to see the recognition now...
also, you need a babysitter NOW>>>seat time, baby!!

It is normal. Ferrari didn't use them one many of those cars. They weren't on consistently until the 4V's

It looks like he has a Euro front bumper,a US version has more area to it and would have covered up some of the bare spots of the grill, it also seems the bumper has been recessed like the Euro versons.

What a great looking car! Congratulations!!

Thats so true, however, the one thing better than that, is getting into your Ferrari that's in your garage and going for a drive. Congrats on a nice looking car. Like the euro style front bumper a lot better than the US ones, gives the car a more complete look. The US ones look like a afterthought add-on.

Congrats, nice example! Just wait a week or so. Your wife or kids will say something like, "Are you going to take the Ferrari?" You will start giggling like a little kid and say, " Why yes, yes I AM!" Enjoy!
