What do you recomend?
Mortons NiNE Prime Del Friscos Binions (yup) Smith & Wollensky Ruth's Chris Alan Alberts to name a Few. oh yea, don't forget Outback LOL
Taco Bell obviously! Asking about good restaurants in Vegas is like asking if you can get Orange Juice in Florida. The city is the center of the universe when it comes to great food. Every major chef on the planet is represented in Vegas and some of the basic food at big Strip hotel buffets is outstanding for relatively very little money. Spago in the Forum Shops is still one of the very best. Ask for the Smoked Salmon Pizza as an appetizer. It's not on the menu and is really one of Wolfgangs Puck's original (and not copied) masterpieces.
I ended up eating at the Palm, nothing I couldn't get in LA, but it was good and convient to my plans. I appreciate all of you input.
I like Pannevino over on Sunset. Lawry's over on Howard Hughes Parkway is yummy. Other than that, it's Jack In The Box or In and Out Burger!
I would have agreed with you about Pannevino, until recently. We held our club's holiday party there, and it was very nice until the bill came. Then we found ourselves being overcharged in a variety of ways. It finally got straightened out, but we certainly won't be returning.
I actually really dislike Delmonico's. When I was there, the food wasn;t all that great, and the service sucked. Maybe I just was there on a bad night, but I still don't plan on returning. Does anyone have any info on Capitol Grille in the Fasion Show Mall? I'm thinking of eating there, but don't want to if it's not worth it.
Looks like I had the opposite experience than you, Bob. The second time I took my wife there for our anniversary in October. We were the chef's guinnea pigs! We were served 2 "new" dishes while waiting for our dessert. I loved both, my wife wanted more wine and water to wash it down! I double checked the bill to make sure we weren't charged for it, and we weren't.
1Turbo, good call on Outback lol, I acutally know the owner of most of the Vegas ones including the new one on the strip, he's a big car guy as well, so your business goes to a good cause haha
Capital Grille in the Fashion Show Maill is one of my top 3 steakhouses in Vegas. #1 - Craftsteak - MGM Grand (Try the Kobe Filet, $115) #2 - Capitol Grille - Fashion Show Mall across from Wynn (Delmonico Steak THE BEST) #3 - Boa - Ceasars Palace - It's on the third floor towards the street side of the mall. Delmonicos will seem good till you eat at any of the above 3 restaurants. You'll never go back to Delmonicos again. (Delmonicos is in the Venetian and 'owned' by Emril. The atmosphere looks like a cavemans home, they charge you for diet coke refills, and steaks are subpar beef at best for the price). -Ben
Your room at a great hotel, with decent room service, plenty of champagne, and a really attractive woman as your friend for the night. No restaurant in town can compete with that.
So whats the deal with going to Las Vegas and eating a steak? Don't you guy's have a Safeway store where you live. When I travel I want to eat something I can't get at home, like fresh seafood, Indian,or sushi.
I've been to the Capitol Grille many times, and to me it doesn't compare to Delmonico. Amazing how tastes differ.
Slight digression from topic, but is Michael Flatley's "Lord of the Dance" Irish dancing show still showing in Vegas?
For something a bit different try Joe's Stone Crabs. At Caesar's in the Forum Shops http://www.icon.com/joes/Las_Vegas_home.html
Eating in Las Vegas is a treat. My wife and I can get any food and it will taste very good. The service will be impeccable. The setting, of course, delightful. 12 cylinders or walk
I hear MIX Lounge is great. How much for dinner there? Someone told me it was expensive and then someone told me really cheap. Is it a reall high class place?
Plan on dropping at least two benjamins if you have a bottle of vino and dinner for two. Awesome view and the meal is good.
