The F1 pump on my 99' 355 Spider burned out. The cost for a new OEM part....$16,000 (without labor). I thought that might get your attention. Tim

I don't understand, my Ferrari tech said to me that the pump for a 360 F1 is $955 or around there plus 3 hours of labor.

holy snappin a*sh*les, if it's $16k in USA, then it'll be $30k in Australia.
I have a '99 F1. Hope the pump holds out.

To really put this in perspective, $16000 US is only $2900 less than I paid for my running and driving 308 QV...

    Scan the invoice.

    It's still cheaper than a hood or a gearbox for a 456...

The $16,000 price is accurate. I confirmed it at a second Ferrari authorized service center. On a positive note, I located a like new pump for $3000. Suddenly $3000 does not seem like a lot of money...strange! Tim

I had one replaced (due to an inexpensive electrical solenoid malfunction causing the pump to not cycle on and off) under warranty on my 1999 360 and the part cost less than $3K back then. In fact, IIRC, the pump is made by Denso -- a good old Japanese company. :)

Hey Daniel, you wouldn't happen to have the prices handy for the 456 hood or the 456 GTA gearbox would you?

The pump is going to seem cheap if he does...

Another example of "you gotta pay to play?" You should get a cert of authenticity signed by Schumy for that price.

What an absolute con, complete rip off!

I think its sad that such a silly part should cost so much, really frightens off buyers IMO.

Had a similar problem early this year. Cost of the replacement pump was under $1,000 for the 360.

Whatever you do...KEEP THE BROKEN PUMP. Surely it could be rebuilt or used for parts. Sell it on eBay or something.

You can buy a 456 for what? $75k? Buy a spare car, take the gearbox and part out the rest.

    Thanks
