Can anyone explain the difference between all the packages that were available for the 550, for example "Fiorano Handling Package", "Scaglietti Package", "Shumacher Edition" and so on.
-Specs / technical data and pictures ?
    -Pricing difference ?

you should search the archives - there's a ton of data on the FHP, for sure.

i've never heard of the "Scaglietti Package". there's the Scaglietti options - which generally refers to custom interior stuffs, i think, but it wasn't a "package" per se.

i am also unaware of a "Schumacher Edition", though i seem to remember that Schumy got a 550 at one point done up to the nines.

there was the World Speed Record (? WSR?) edition of a limited number of cars (you can search the archives for more data on that one).

    hope that's helpful.

FHP is the one to look for.

I'm not sure either for the rest (existence/use), but Fiorano is really cool.
It prevents body roll and improves braking (and skeak)...

    Enjoy the ride.

yep, there was 33 of the WSR editions made in '99 and '00. ;)

I also haven't heard about those other two 'packages'.

Doody, I did check the archives, but I have not found a clear listing for the 550. There are some for the 355....

WR car was 98, GB market only, Grigio Titanio/bordeaux, FHP, rollbar, badges
Google specs. Lots of websites have them.
FHP was Euro only I believe until mid99. My early 00 had it, one of first. Red calipers, bars, ECU, pads, Modulars.
FHP IS a Scaglietti option, as are daytona seats, etc.

Schummi package was on 456, was 2-tone grey, red guts. Run out model in 03, IIRC.
    Ferrari 456M GT Scaglietti

In the case of the 456M GT displayed on the Ferrari stand, apparently intended for Michael Schumacher, the dominant characteristic is the two-tone paint finish. This elegant “tone on tone” colour mix was obtained through a specific study on the chromatic tones of grey, then also applied to other exterior details such as the wheels and the radiator grille.
For the layman this means that the roof, exterior mirrors and wheels were painted Canna Di Fusile (Gunmetal Grey) whilst the rest of the body was painted Grigio Nuvolari (a Maserati colour).

The personalised options are also extended to the car’s interior with the new graphics for the dials, whilst the cross-drilled brakes add a more sporty note to the two-tone 456M GT “Scaglietti”. The tailoring process has also been applied to many leather interior details, such as the steering wheel, the door trims and the rear parcel shelf. The seats are characterised by micro-perforated leather to the central part, whilst the crimson stitching contributes to the even more personalised style of the interior. The final personalisation “touches” are a special version of the hi-fi stereo system and the radio-satellite navigation system.

"Schummi package was on 456, was 2-tone grey, red guts."

Hmmm, Maybe they offered the "Schumacher Edition" on a few models?? It was my understanding that this was specific to the '02 575 model and was offered in red w/either blk or tan interior, piped seats, Fiorano package, 6sp.

Thanks for the input guys, but, hmmm, to me it seems to be a lot of confusion, as I was looking at a 550 in "Shumi-edition", where most of the interior was carbon, including the dash and door trim.

So, since I am about to buy a 550, -how can I tell that the car actually has the "Fiorano-package", and that it is not just someone who have spray painted the calipers...?

I had a full carbon interior and FHP on my '00. FHP's brakes squeak a lot when cold. Rear bar is bigger too. Need to find selling dealer and check invoice. Carbon is separate option, 6700US IIRC.
