Thanks for that dave, I am going to try and keep up to date with the racing this year and actually watch it on TV!
I trust you all tuned in to Men & Motors this evening to watch the TT coverage. Unfortunately, the weather postponed the days' big race 'til tomorrow ... highlights of last years race were shown. Apologies for not keeping you up to date thus far. James (the lad I "look after") is not competing this year, due to house purchase. My very good pal David (Pup) Bell is competing, and has done extremely well in practice .... his best time this week exceeds an average lap time of over 120 mph. He is entered in all the solo races and has the number 22. Last night he provided a bit of a scare as he hit a grass bank, in practice, at over 100mph .... fortunately, he stayed upright and continued. Ken is pictured below, repairing the damaged fairing to the GSXR 1000. Pup is riding a CBR 600 in the supersport class. Hi Dave have been watching this evening ,good viewing even though weather has caused problems When you see those guys lapping at 120 mph you have to admire their guts there are so many things to hit , they are either very brave or fearless I will look out for your man next week Do they still have mad Sunday when the nutters are allowed out ?? RAY360M
Yes Ray, mad sunday still survives .... the mountain road (no limits !) from Ramsey to Creg-ny-Baa (12 miles) is made one way, in the direction of the course .... Joe Public have a chance to go ballistic. However, tomorrow the roads will close at 1 pm to allow todays' postponed race to go ahead (weather permitting) John McGuinness is hoping (and has the capabilities) to manage 130 mph cheers, d
Managed to watch the programme on the Canadian who had come over to compete in the race - sold everything and moved to the Isle of Man. The Isle looks lovely. Rick
it is rick .... you must visit us soon .... x marks the spot. see you in a week or so. cheers, d Image Unavailable, Please Login
sorry ... been busy. pup broke down on lap two of the superbike race on sunday .... crankshaft oil seal disintegrated (not my fault !) he missed the first superstock (1000cc) race today as a result, but finished 22nd in the following supersport (600cc) race. The 600 goes again on wednesday and we are desperately trying to get bits to sort the 1000 for fridays' race. sorry no pics ... not much time. didn't catch the prog. on TV tonight ... any good ? cheers, d
A few pics from wednesday .... pup (#22) ran out of fuel, 2 miles short of the finish ..... molys' sidecar outfit (#1) was lapping faster than most of the 600cc solos ..... pal victor (crouched along pit lane) suffered a collapsed wheel bearing....ryan (glancing across whilst refuelling) won the race. Pups' superbike motor is now rebuilt, however we do have a loan GSXR 1000 if reqd .... decision to be made tomorrow, which one goes. Big race tomorrow and the classic parade .... hope to post more pics. Off to pick up le mans t shirts now, then hopefully a full nights kip. cheers, d Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Great pics. Have you ever driven one of those sidecars Dave. I'm just wondering what they feel like to drive
All done and dusted .... best bike runs tomorrow .... just needs fuel .... fingers crossed for a fine day. g'nite, d Image Unavailable, Please Login
never actually driven one, but enjoyed a few laps in the 70's as a passenger at cadwell park .... the controls are the same as a solo 'xept the position is a lot more prone (think that's the word ... laid flattish) ..... good fun, but nowadays one has to be completely "barking", especially around here. cheers, d
tough luck for "pup" today .... whilst lying 15th in the big and final race, the chain broke and ripped into the crankcase .... he had only 10 of the 230 miles to go, to the finish .... but was uninjured. some more pics ....... cheers, d Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
