Sorry Rob, I couldn't resist; you have been asking

 

Loza good things, but I'd already be happy with your first three items, which are sadly lost in so many discussions.

 

I would add that a good user keeps replies on topic and strictly to the information requested.

Nothing irritates me more than seeing a user post a question about test pipes and then seeing twenty replies about how he's killing our children, fracturing Federal laws, voiding his warranty and probably kicking puppies and clubbing baby seals in his spare time.

Perhaps that's covered in your 'diverse and accepting of diversity,' but I think it bears spelling out in more detail since there are a lot of members who seem to need opportunities to push their own morality or choices even when that information has nothing to do with what was asked. The test pipes are just one example - it seems to be pretty widespread.

 

I am addicted to cars as are most members of this board. I have four cars three of which are M-B's, and I found and came to this board for valuable Ferrari info.

I am returning to Ferrari after many years. I was at Concorso last year gaining info, and then I very fortunately came across this board which has answered a multitude of questions for me.

I have discovered that model specific boards are absolutely invaluable to finding out critical vehicle information. It has been the case for my M-B questions, updates, unusual parts, unusual finds, etc.

This board has so far been a treasure trove for me as a result in and of itself. So, no introductions need be made to me and I do not believe a motto or creed or pledge is required nor is Ferrari ownership.

This is an invaluable source, the comments are terrific, and I enjoy it very much.

I hope I can be a valuable member and ultimately give to it at least what I have so far gained.

Maybe it's best to just leave everything where it "Lay"!!!

Interesting example for two reasons:

- Threads can always lead to off topic discussions. I myself am often guilty of hijacking a thread. Not always a polite thing to do, but I guess an expression of human communication.

- I agree with you 100% about the moralists and purists. Nothing is more annoying than when those people take over. In that regard I can feel your pain and that's why I said "accepting diversity" is often lost on folks on here. Bring up one slightly controversial idea and you have instant combustion.

 

All of the above + sense of humor.

3. Must not have overly strong political/religious beliefs if they venture in the PR section.
4. Must love Ferrari.

While this is an international board and perhaps less than 95% got frustrated, I think it was clear the intent of this thread and should have been locked right away IMO.
